Every wall in Black Mesa is now a climb. Take out your Hands, grab with left and right mouse, and pull yourself up White Knuckle style. Grip drains while you hang and runs out faster on metal and glass, and a slip means a real Half-Life fall. White Knuckle's own hands and climbing sounds are loaded from your White Knuckle install each time you play. Needs Half-Life; White Knuckle recommended. Solo.
How to play
Start a New Game. Once you have the HEV suit, press 1 for the Hands (or Q to swap with your last weapon).
Hold left / right mouse to grab with that hand. Keep a button held and the hand catches the next surface in reach.
Forward pulls up, back lowers, strafe sways, jump kicks off the wall. Pull up on a ledge top and keep pushing forward to climb onto it.
Grip refills when you stand on solid ground.
Good to know
You climb the level itself: walls and ledges built into Half-Life's maps. Doors, lifts, breakable crates and other moving objects, sky and liquids can't be grabbed.
Without White Knuckle installed, climbing still works with Half-Life sounds and a plain grip bar, and a message tells you White Knuckle wasn't found.
Nothing from Half-Life or White Knuckle is in the download: White Knuckle's hands and sounds are converted from your own copy when you press Play.
