Enshroudheim brings Enshrouded's way of moving, fighting, gearing up and leveling up into Valheim's huge procedural world.
Movement
- Glider: press Jump again while falling to open a glider and soar across Valheim's valleys, with no fall damage while it is open.
- Grappling hook: aim at terrain, rocks or trees within range and press G to pull yourself there.
- Dodge roll: Left Alt rolls you the way you're moving, with invincibility frames and a stamina cost.
- Stamina sprint and climbing: a faster Enshrouded-style sprint, and you can climb cliffs and walls by holding Jump against them. New in 0.2.0: climbing costs half the stamina it did.
- Lighter falls (new in 0.2.0): you take only 25% of Valheim's fall damage (75% less). It's a config value, Movement.FallDamageMultiplier.
Equipment screen and glider skins (new in 0.2.0)
- An Equipment panel opens beside your inventory. It has armor slots (helmet, chest, legs, cape), weapon slots (main hand, off hand or shield, ranged or staff, and a tool slot), accessory slots (utility/belt and trinket) and a glider slot. Equipped items leave the bag grid, so your bag only holds loot. Press Z to switch between your melee weapons, your ranged weapon or staff, and your tool.
- Glider skins: put an animal hide in the glider slot (deer hide, wolf pelt, lox pelt, scale hide, troll hide and more). Your glider then takes the look of the rug Valheim makes from that hide. The look is read from your own game, and other players see it.
- Nothing is lost. Your slots are saved with your character, and on death everything goes to your tombstone as usual. If you ever remove the mod, Valheim shows your slot items as two extra inventory rows.
Levels and an Enshrouded skill tree (new in 0.2.0)
- Valheim's skills no longer level from use. You earn XP from kills (more in harder biomes and from starred foes), from bosses, and from exploring: revealing the map, finding new biomes, named places and boss locations. Every level, up to 45, gives 2 skill points. Your Valheim skills grow with your level and perks, and dying costs no XP or skills.
- Press K for the skill tree: Enshrouded's twelve archetypes in three branches. Ranger: Assassin, Ranger, Beastmaster, Survivor. Mage: Trickster, Wizard, Healer, Battlemage. Warrior: Tank, Warrior, Barbarian, Athlete. It has 60 perks: health, stamina, mana, damage by weapon type, crits, parry window, dodge cost, glider, grapple and climb costs, lifesteal, healing and more. Spend points anywhere, mix freely, and reset for free at any time.
Combat (new in 0.2.0)
- Parry: block just before a hit lands. The attacker staggers, and your next hit is a heavy finisher.
- Combo chains: every third swing in a row hits harder. Fully charged bow shots do bonus damage, and critical hits can land.
- Rage meter: every attack and cast builds rage. At full rage you attack and cast up to 25% faster, and it fades out of combat.
- Health bars and levels above nearby foes, plus character levels above other players.
Magic (new in 0.2.0): a mana pool (Valheim's eitr bar) from the start, and four new workbench items. The Spark Wand shoots quick lightning bolts, the Ember Staff a fire bolt, the Frost Staff ice bolts, and the Mending Staff heals you and nearby allies.
Enshrouded's own music: Enshrouded's biome soundtrack plays across Valheim's overworld. It is read and decoded on your PC from your own Enshrouded install. No Enshrouded files are included in this mod.
Every key and number is in the BepInEx config file BepInEx/config/com.allen.enshroudheim.cfg.
Default keys: Jump again in the air = glider, G = grappling hook, Left Alt = dodge roll, hold Jump against a wall = climb, K = skill tree, Z = switch weapons, Tab = inventory with the equipment panel. Block (right mouse) right before a hit = parry.
Multiplayer: up to 10 players, through Valheim's normal hosting and joining. Each player needs the mod and their own Enshrouded for the music. Each character keeps its own level and perks. Everyone who hits a foe gets its XP, and other players see your glider and level.
Join through the game: the host picks a world under Start game, ticks Start server and presses Start; friends open Join game, find the host's server (or press Add server and type its address) and join.
You need: Valheim and Enshrouded installed. Melty installs BepInEx for you.
