Press J (or click both sticks in) and your Viking drops onto a board running Skate 3's real engine, with Skate 3's own sounds. Press it again and you're back in Valheim, right where you stopped.
What you get
- Skate 3's actual physics, flick-it tricks, grinds and follow camera, riding Valheim's terrain, rocks, trees and everything you've built
- Ledges, walls and beam edges around you turn into grind rails automatically
- Your Viking is animated by the Skate 3 skater, on Skate 3's own skateboard
- Triangle / Y steps off the board to walk, just like Skate 3
- R1 / RB swings your board at Greydwarfs, Greylings, boars and trolls (never other players or your tamed animals)
- D-pad Up: High Pump. D-pad Down: Dunno
- Portals and water drop you safely back into Valheim
Skate 3's sound
- Skate 3's own rolling that follows your speed, with the trucks rattling and wind at speed; built floors sound like wood, stone or iron
- Pops when you flick a trick, flip and spin whooshes, and landings as loud as the impact
- Grinds, boardslides, powerslides, reverts and Hall of Meat bails
- Stepping off your board and getting back on
- Clean, like in Skate 3, and it follows Valheim's sound-effects volume
Controls
Plays best on a PS5, PS4 or Xbox controller, with Skate 3's original layout. Keyboard works too: WASD to steer, arrow keys for flick-it, Space to push.
What you need
- Valheim on PC
- Your own copy of Skate 3 for Xbox 360 (the extracted folder with default.xex). Melty finds it on your PC and prepares it automatically the first time you press Play, sounds included.
