Skyrim, fought like Avowed. You play Skyrim Special Edition — its world, story, characters, music, leveling and perks are untouched — with Avowed's weapons, animations, combat rules and sounds, read from your own installed copy of Avowed.
What you get
- Avowed's arsenal in Skyrim. 83 weapons: swords, axes, maces, daggers, spears, greatswords, battleaxes, warhammers, bows, wands, grimoires, pistols and arquebuses, with their real models and materials, converted from your Avowed the first time you press Play (under a minute).
- Found naturally. They are added to Skyrim's own loot lists: merchants sell them, chests hold them and enemies carry them, at the level their Skyrim counterpart appears. No starting kit.
- Avowed's animations, for you and every NPC. One-handed, two-handed and unarmed combos (wind-up and release, as in Avowed), power attacks, guard, blocking, flinches and staggers, the dodge, and walking, running and sprinting with a weapon drawn — in third person and, for attacks and guard, in first person. Attacks and the dodge travel as far as Avowed's do.
- Avowed's combat rules, for you and every NPC, with Avowed's and Skyrim's weapons alike:
- Dodge (Left Alt): Avowed's quick step back (about 3 m) that costs stamina; melee hits miss while it lasts. Armed enemies dodge too.
- Parry: raise your guard just before a hit lands and it does nothing; the attacker staggers.
- Stun: hits fill the target's stun meter (maces and hammers most, power attacks double). A full meter staggers it for three seconds, when it takes double melee damage.
- Stamina: every swing and shot costs stamina; with none left your hits are weaker.
- Slide: crouch out of a sprint.
- Wands, grimoires and guns. Wands never run dry, grimoires cast on your magicka, pistols fire one shot and reload, arquebuses are heavy two-handed firearms.
- Avowed's sounds. Swings, impacts, blocks, parries, draws, bow and gun shots are Avowed's own, for every weapon and actor.
Not in this version
- Bows, magic, crossbows/arquebuses and sheathed movement keep Skyrim's animations; first person keeps Skyrim's walk and run.
- Avowed's shields, armour and spells. Wands, grimoires and pistols fire Skyrim spells.
- A stun bar on screen: a stun is announced by a message and a sound.
- Materials are flattened from Avowed's layered ones, so colours are approximate.
