Terraria survival, drawn in Charlie Murder's look, where every night is a run of Call of Duty: Black Ops III Zombies rounds that lasts longer each night.
New in 0.3.4: the boss arsenal. Every boss you beat now adds its own special gun to the Mystery Box, 20 in all, each with a trick of its own:
Boss trophies. Every Terraria boss can drop a gun of its own when it dies (1 in 3, every kill, rolled for each player), and each fires something only that boss could:
Easier to read. The stats screen is bigger, and a new Text size setting (HUD & audio) makes all the small lettering larger.
Fair loot in co-op. You each get your own salvage from every horde kill near you, your own mini boss loot, and your own special item when a Terraria boss falls for the first time.
And something hidden. The band left something backstage. Rumour has it the settings panel knows a riff.
New in 0.3.3: the Workshop. Craft 65 new things from what you mine by day and what the horde leaves at night. Zombies now drop scrap and teeth as they die, and elites and mini bosses drop ink. Mix those with ordinary Terraria materials at the station each recipe names (Work Bench, anvil, Hellforge, loom and more). Open it from your inventory.
Also in Murder Rounds (0.3.1 and 0.3.2):
New in 0.3.0: a real BO3 arsenal, roguelite upgrades and mini bosses. 36 Black Ops III guns, up from 9, each with its real name, Pack-a-Punch name, firing sound and its own three-part reload (mag out, mag in, bolt). New ones include the M8A7, Sheiva, XR-2, HVK-30, Man-O-War and Peacekeeper; the VMP, Pharo, Vesper, HG 40, Razorback, Bootlegger and M1927; the BRM, Dingo, Gorgon and 48 Dredge LMGs; the 205 Brecci, Haymaker 12 and Argus; the Drakon and SVG-100; the XM-53 rocket launcher; and the wonder weapons Ray Gun Mark II, Thundergun (blasts the horde away) and Wunderwaffe DG-2 (lightning that chains through a crowd). Every gun feels different: muzzle flashes, recoil kick, burst fire, spread that grows when you hold the trigger, spent brass and shotgun shells bouncing on the ground, tracers, impact sparks and a screen punch on heavy guns. Pack-a-Punched guns shimmer in camo, and a BO3-style corner shows your gun, its name, a pip for every round in the mag, your reserve ammo and the fire mode.
Pick an upgrade after every round. Survive a round and choose one of three, GobbleGum-machine style, from 51: more damage, faster reloads, bigger mags, more health, a Riot Shield, cheaper box and perks, picks that power up your band member's special, and wild ones like Dragon's Breath (fire), Tesla Coil (lightning arcs), Cryo Rounds (frozen zombies shatter), Ricochet and Feedback Loop (kills explode). Rarest of all are the five legendaries: Endless Encore (your ammo regenerates), Phoenix Up, Death Machine Hands, Kill Streak and Golden Ticket. One free reroll a night. Picks stack night after night, and you lose them all if you go down.
Mini bosses. From round 3, a Charlie Murder heavy can crash the round, more often the deeper the night goes: the Ogre, Lord Mortimer's Ghost, Goliath or Baal, each with a boss bar and aura. Bring one down for its loot: a pick of legendaries, plus a wonder gun that only exists in Murder Rounds (The Encore sonic cannon, the Drum Machine that lobs bouncing drum bombs, Zombie Gold for triple points) or one of eight band trinkets, like the PUNKZORS Van Keys and Lester's Lucky Pick, that you keep for good.
A scarier horde. More Charlie Murder monsters join the night (hard hats, punk imps, foremen, pumpkin and psycho brutes), and no two look alike. They claw up out of the dirt, flinch and stumble when shot, lunge at you, glow-eyed in the dark, and lose heads and limbs to your guns.
Play together. Online co-op for 2: one of you hosts with Terraria's Host & Play, the other joins through the Steam friends list. Each of you keeps your own points, guns, perks and upgrades. Go down and you bleed out for 30 seconds while your teammate fights to reach you and revive you; if you both go down, it's over for the night. Hand your gun to your teammate, or leave them what the Mystery Box rolled. More zombies and tougher bosses with two.
A Mystery Box with a show. The band's battered road case: the lid flies open, guns flick past faster than you can read and slow down tick by tick, and when the teddy bear shows up the whole case rockets into the sky and crashes down somewhere else. No repeats, never the gun you just traded in, and wonder weapons come more often the longer they stay away.
Still Terraria. Days are yours to build, mine and explore. Your own Terraria weapons work on the horde too. Underground, Blood Moons, invasions and bosses carry on as normal; the horde only takes over the surface. Every biome gets its own painted, inked sky and scenery, from the desert's pyramids to the mushroom forest's glowing caps, and on horde nights the sky turns into a stage.
Your rules. A settings panel (open your inventory) lets you choose horde nights every night, every other night or only when you ring the bell at the band's van, pick Casual, BO3 classic or Nightmare, keep zombies from breaking your walls (whatever they break is rebuilt at dawn anyway), and switch upgrades, mini bosses, calm nights, the comic look, film grain, gore, screen shake and every volume, perk jingles included.
The Tour: beat Terraria's bosses, grow the show. Every Terraria boss is a tour date. Clear one for the first time and the band's next stop delivers: a tour poster slaps across the screen with the boss crossed out, and a new machine crashes down out of the sky. The Eye of Cthulhu brings Deadshot Daiquiri, the Eater of Worlds or Brain of Cthulhu Mule Kick (a third gun), the Queen Bee PhD Flopper (big falls blow up the horde), Skeletron Widow's Wine (webs freeze zombies when they hit you), the Wall of Flesh teaches Pack-a-Punch Alternate Ammo Types (Blast Furnace, Dead Wire, Fireworks, Thunder Wall, Cryofreeze), a mechanical boss brings Tombstone Soda (go down and win your perks and upgrades back), Plantera Der Wunderfizz (a random perk), and the Moon Lord The Golden Encore: every Mystery Box gun comes Pack-a-Punched. Until then their spots wait as road cases marked "next tour stop", and the Tour tab in the settings shows every date.
Also in this update: the whole world goes Charlie Murder, and the nights get longer. Ink outlines, a gritty punk comic colour grade, film grain and scratches, and fog at night. Terraria's creatures and townsfolk become Charlie Murder characters who keep their jobs and shops, and your health is Charlie Murder's own portrait and bar.
Play as the band. Pick Charlie, Lester, Tommy, Rex or Kelly. Each has their real Charlie Murder look and special: Blazing Vocals, Electric Riff, Bass Buzzsaw, Gun Show and Siren Smash, charged by the Anarchy meter.
Survive the nights. You wake by the band's crashed tour van with an MR6, a knife and 500 points. Build and explore by day. At dusk Round 1 starts and Charlie Murder's horde comes for you: zombies, zombie cops, nurses, fatties, imps, hockey killers and brutes. Rounds run back to back until dawn, each bigger and tougher on Black Ops III's formula, and start over the next night, which is longer and brings more zombies. Your best round is kept. Some nights are calm: a regular Terraria night with its own bosses and music.
Black Ops III, for real: perk machines with their real jingles (Jugger-Nog, Speed Cola, Quick Revive, Double Tap, Stamin-Up), the Mystery Box and Pack-a-Punch, power-ups with the announcer (Max Ammo, Insta-Kill, Double Points, Nuke, Carpenter), BO3 points, the chalk round tally and the round music. The band's own songs play through the night.
Controls: Q draws your gun or swaps guns (scroll while a gun is out), left click fires, R reloads, V knifes, F uses your special, any hotbar number puts the gun away. Hold right-click at a machine to buy. Press 1-3 or click a card to pick an upgrade, 4 to reroll. G gives your gun to your teammate. X uses the Workshop gear on your belt, Z picks the next. Open your inventory for the Workshop, the Gunsmith and the Murder Rounds settings.
What you need: Terraria 1.4.5, Call of Duty: Black Ops III and Charlie Murder, installed. Nothing from Black Ops III or Charlie Murder is included: the first Play reads your own copies (a few seconds, once per version). Characters and worlds are kept apart from your normal Terraria saves, and plain Terraria stays exactly as it was. Solo, or online co-op for 2 players.
