Elden Ring, played as a Megabonk run. Load your save, pick a Megabonk character and start bonking. Every kill gives XP, and every level-up pauses the world and offers Megabonk upgrade cards.
Everything Megabonk is read from your own Megabonk install each time you play: characters, portraits, starting weapons and passives, and every weapon, tome and item with its real name, description and icon. Nothing from either game is in the download.
What you get
- Character pick when your save loads. Every Megabonk character has its own weapon, passive, stats, movement and a matching Elden Ring armor look (your real gear isn't touched). Calcium skates, Tony McZoom hovers, Megachad flexes...
- Loot pool: choose which weapons, tomes and items can roll (F6 any time).
- Level-up cards. Megabonk weapons fire real Elden Ring spells on their own, tomes raise your stats, and items do their Megabonk thing (Borgar heals, Ice Crystal freezes, Big Bonk BONKs, Za Warudo cheats death...).
- Re-spins (new in 0.3.0): don't like the three cards? Re-spin for a new set. Every run starts with 3 re-spins, and every boss you defeat gives one more.
- 4 weapons max (new in 0.3.0): when you're full, new weapon cards say so, and picking one lets you choose which weapon it replaces (or go back).
- Real Max HP (new in 0.3.0): Max HP from tomes and items raises your actual Elden Ring HP bar.
- Megabonk-style HUD with floating damage numbers.
- Map trials (new in 0.3.0). Taking a region map from its map stele doesn't reveal it yet. A wall closes around the stele's pillar and five Soldiers of Godrick attack, tougher in later regions. Hold the ground for 20 seconds and defeat all five to reveal the map. You can't walk or ride out until you win. If you die, go back to the stele and try again.
- Fixes in 0.3.0: your spells no longer hurt Torrent or your spirit ashes. Movement / Attack Speed bonuses pause while you ride Torrent, since sped-up rider animations could throw you off. Dragon's Breath no longer leaves flames burning after its target dies (the frame drops are gone). The Attraction Tome and the Cursed Tome now give +10% runes from kills instead of XP; Cursed still makes enemies hit 10% harder.
- Resting keeps your run. Dying ends it with a run summary and Megabonk's own death music.
- Bonk Party: up to 4 players join from Melty, each in their own world, sharing one XP bar.
Needs
- Elden Ring 2.7.1 (current Steam version). Melty starts it offline through ModEngine2 with Easy Anti-Cheat off. Don't take a modded game online.
- Megabonk installed (it doesn't need to be running).
