Play the Lands Between as adult Link. Zelda Ring builds Link, Epona, his items, effects, sounds and music on your PC from your own Ocarina of Time ROM (USA 1.1) the first time you play. Nothing of Nintendo's or FromSoftware's is included.
New in 0.3: Epona replaces Torrent. She is built from your ROM like Link and carries him with all of Torrent's moves, and Epona's Song calls her. 0.3.1 brings back the foes' health bars, with boss bars in Ocarina of Time's look.
Link and his things
- Adult Link from your ROM: model, Kokiri, Goron and Zora Tunic (cap in the same colour), Kokiri, Iron and Hover Boots, Silver and Golden Gauntlets. He moves, jumps and fights with Elden Ring's animations, and shouts and cries with Ocarina of Time's voice when he swings and gets hit.
- His whole adult inventory, all unlocked: Kokiri Sword, Master Sword, Giant's Knife, Biggoron's Sword, Megaton Hammer, Hylian and Mirror Shield, the Fairy Bow with normal, Fire, Ice and Light Arrows, Hookshot, Longshot, Bombs, Bombchus, Deku Nuts, Din's Fire, Farore's Wind, Nayru's Love, the Lens of Truth, bottles, medallions and spiritual stones.
- His weapons come fully upgraded (like +25 with smithing stones), need no stats and scale A with every stat; all of Link's things weigh nothing. Bombs never run out. His hearts grow with Vigor.
- The spin attack on every sword: hold the skill button to charge it (Ocarina of Time's glow on the blade), let go to spin with its band of energy from the ROM; a full charge is the golden Great Spin Attack, paid with FP.
Ocarina of Time in the Lands Between
- Ocarina of Time's pause menu on Start / Esc with Select Item, Map, Quest Status and Equipment; its map page opens Elden Ring's map and menu. Put items on C-left, C-down and C-right, and pick one in play by holding Y / Triangle and pushing the right stick (E and the arrow keys on a keyboard).
- Epona instead of Torrent: Ocarina of Time's Epona from your ROM, with her saddle, her mane and her white hooves, carries Link through the Lands Between with all of Torrent's moves.
- The Ocarina with all 12 songs: Sun's Song turns day into night and back, the Song of Time lets you pick the hour, the Song of Storms brings rain, Epona's Song calls Epona, Saria's Song restores FP, Zelda's Lullaby shows what is hidden around you, and the six warp songs take you to Sites of Grace you have found.
- The items work like in Ocarina of Time, with its own effects from the ROM:
- Din's Fire: the dome of flame grows round Link and burns every foe it reaches.
- Nayru's Love: the blue crystal turns round Link, and nothing can harm him for a minute.
- Farore's Wind: back to the Site of Grace you last rested at.
- Hover Boots: walk on air for a moment over an edge, a golden circle under your feet.
- Fire, Ice and Light Arrows: their flame, frost or light on the drawn bow (with its hum) and trailing behind them, and a burst of fire, frost or holy light where they land.
- Bombchus run along the ground and burst; the Hookshot and Longshot pull you to walls and ledges; the Lens of Truth shows hidden foes while it drains FP.
- Fairies in bottles bring Link back when he falls; the Twin Maiden Husks at the Roundtable Hold sell them.
- Ocarina of Time's HUD: hearts instead of the health bar, the magic meter, and the B and C buttons in the corner; the yellow Z-targeting triangles and arrow when you lock on. Foes show their health bar and the damage you deal; bosses get Ocarina of Time's magic meter as their bar, with their name in its font.
- Navi at your side with "Hey! Listen!", Ocarina of Time's menu and item sounds, and the Elden Ring logo joined with Ocarina of Time's on the title screen. Conversations and cutscenes skip with Start / Esc as usual.
Playing together
With Seamless Co-op installed in your Elden Ring folder (a version made for your Elden Ring version), Zelda Ring loads it along: up to 4 players who all have Zelda Ring can play together. If your Seamless Co-op doesn't fit your game version, Zelda Ring notices and starts without it.
Good to know
- Needs Elden Ring 2.7.1.0 (Steam, Windows) and your Ocarina of Time ROM (USA 1.1, any of .z64 / .n64 / .v64); Melty finds it on your PC.
- The first time, Elden Ring starts once by itself to build Link and closes again; then the game starts. Nothing to do on your side.
- Offline only (Easy Anti-Cheat off through me3), with its own save file.
