Play Wobbly Life as Minecraft's Steve, in Creative. You walk, sprint, jump and fly with real Minecraft physics on Wobbly Island, carry Minecraft's hotbar and creative inventory, and every block you place is drawn inside Wobbly Life's own world, lit by its sun.
Neither game is rewritten: Minecraft: Java Edition runs hidden in the background, Wobbly Life runs its island, town, cars and weather, and two small mods link them through shared memory.
Before you play
- You need Minecraft: Java Edition on your Microsoft account, plus Wobbly Life. Owning only Bedrock Edition (the Windows, Xbox or phone version) isn't enough; Java & Bedrock Edition for PC and PC Game Pass both include Java Edition.
- Sign in once. The first time you press Play, a sign-in window asks for your Minecraft account (it may be titled Prism Launcher: that's WobblyCraft's own Minecraft). Sign in there with the Microsoft account that owns Java Edition; you won't be asked again. Closing that window stops the start, so press Try again if you closed it by mistake.
- Let the first start finish. The first Play downloads Minecraft itself (about 290 MB) in a small Prism Launcher window, which takes a few minutes on most connections. Leave it open until Wobbly Life starts; if you close it, press Try again and it carries on where it stopped. Later Plays skip this.
What you get
- You're Steve: classic Steve, first person or F5 third person, standing on Wobbly Island. Wobbly Life's own character is hidden and follows you, so the island's streaming, minimap and townspeople keep working around you.
- Creative mode: fly (double-tap Space) and open the full creative inventory with E. Your hotbar starts with grass, planks, cobblestone, stone bricks, logs, glass, leaves, bricks and torches.
- Build on the island: place and break Minecraft blocks anywhere. They stand in Wobbly Life's world, hidden by its houses and hills, lit by its sun. Leaves and glass keep their holes.
- Hit Wobbly Life: punch, slash or shoot Wobbly Life's townspeople, cars and loose objects. Townspeople get pushed over, complain, and get back up; cars and objects go flying.
- Blow it up: TNT and every other Minecraft explosion is a Wobbly Life explosion too: its own blast effect, townspeople knocked flat, things thrown about, fences breaking, hydrants bursting.
- Light it up: torches, lanterns, glowstone, fire and lava light Wobbly Life's world. Best at night.
- Wobbly Life's quests and people: walk up to a quest giver, job, person or door and press G. Wobbly Life starts it as it always does; you're Steve again when it's over.
- Minecraft's HUD: hotbar, chat, commands and every Minecraft screen over Wobbly Life's picture.
Controls
| Key | Does |
|---|---|
| G | Wobbly Life's interact: talk, start quests and jobs, open doors |
| Esc | Wobbly Life's pause menu (or closes an open Minecraft screen first) |
| O | Minecraft's pause / options menu |
| everything else | Minecraft's: WASD, Space, Shift, Ctrl, E, F5, T, /, mouse |
Good to know
- Solo only. WobblyCraft's Minecraft keeps your own Minecraft worlds untouched.
- While a Wobbly Life dialogue, job or vehicle runs, Wobbly Life's own character and controls are back; Steve takes over again when it ends.
- Collision is sampled from Wobbly Life's world on a half-block grid: very thin things (fences, poles) can be walked through.
- Explosions throw Wobbly Life's things around but leave its ground and buildings standing.
- Minecraft's background music isn't downloaded, since WobblyCraft keeps it muted anyway. Music discs in jukeboxes still play.
