How to Minecraft

Real Minecraft Java 26.3 runs next to How to Fish and is drawn straight into How to Fish's world: Minecraft blocks and mobs stand on How to Fish's islands, hide behind its rocks, boats and people, and sit under its sea and fog. Minecraft's own window stays out of sight.

What you can do

• Minecraft mode (F7). How to Fish's HUD and hands step aside, Minecraft's hotbar and hand appear.
• Walk like Steve. Minecraft's own physics moves you: its walk and sprint speed, jump, sneak, step-up and creative double-jump flying, over invisible ground the exact height of How to Fish's hills. In the sea, How to Fish's swimming takes over.
• F5: third person. See Minecraft's Steve walking where you are.
• Build anywhere. Place and break Minecraft blocks on the islands, the docks and the seabed. What you build is solid in How to Fish too: you, items and fish land on it.
• Fish with a Minecraft rod. Cast into How to Fish's sea, wait for the splash, reel in: a real How to Fish fish flies out to your feet. Grab it (E) and drop it in the sell box (Q) for How to Fish money.
• Grab and use. E grabs or uses what How to Fish shows you (a fish, the sell box, a door, a person); anywhere else E opens Minecraft's creative inventory, which you use with the mouse and keyboard.
• TNT dynamite fishing. Minecraft TNT and creeper explosions also go off as How to Fish dynamite: underwater they bring the fish up.
• Creative means no damage. In Minecraft mode with Minecraft in creative, How to Fish doesn't hurt you either.
• Mobs hunt you (and hit you, outside creative).

How to play

Press Play: Melty starts Minecraft (signed in with your own account) and then How to Fish. In How to Fish choose Host Game, load or create a Singleplayer save, and press F7. The package also has How to Minecraft.exe (in %LOCALAPPDATA%\HowToMinecraft\Prism) to start both games yourself, online or offline with your own account. Single player only.

How it works

A Fabric mod in Minecraft and a BepInEx plugin in How to Fish talk over your own PC (127.0.0.1). How to Fish sends its camera, its ground and your keys; Minecraft sends back each frame's picture and depth, which the plugin turns into a 3D mesh placed in How to Fish's world, so both games' things hide behind each other correctly.
