Ready or Not raids turn into a Left 4 Dead 2 outbreak: suspects become Hunters, Smokers, Boomers, Chargers, Tanks and Witches.
How to join The host makes a friends-only lobby from Multiplayer and invites friends from the "Lobby Manager"; friends accept, or join the host from the friends list on the main menu. Up to 5 players. Everyone playing needs this mashup from Melty.
You play Ready or Not as normal: stack up, breach, clear. Then the Green Flu breaks out.
Slow-burn outbreak. Every mission starts as a normal raid. About a minute in, Left 4 Dead 2's horde stinger hits, your officer shouts "Incoming!", and suspects start turning into infected one by one. Later the whole building is overrun and they turn two at a time. Infected bash through doors to get to you.
The full Special Infected roster, each with its own behaviour:
The sound of the outbreak, straight from your own Left 4 Dead 2: horde music and drums, the Tank and Witch themes, special infected attack stingers, every moan, scream, pounce and punch, plus survivor warnings ("Hunter!", "Tank!", "Witch!") voiced by Coach, Nick, Ellis or Rochelle, positioned around you.
Co-op: up to 5 officers. Join through Ready or Not's own co-op lobby. The host runs the outbreak; the infected's movement and attacks reach everyone through the game itself, and the mod sends every player the same sounds and music. Co-op hasn't been tested with two players yet. Tell us how it goes.
You need Ready or Not and Left 4 Dead 2 installed. Melty sets up UE4SS and starts the Left 4 Dead 2 sound player alongside the game.
Settings (optional) in %LOCALAPPDATA%\SwatVsHorde\settings.cfg: survivor = coach|gambler|mechanic|producer|random, calm = 60 (seconds before the outbreak), turnOrder = tank,hunter,....
Honest limits: infected keep Ready or Not suspect bodies, because Unreal can't load Left 4 Dead 2's 3D models while the game runs. Everything you hear, how they move and attack, and the Director's pacing come from Left 4 Dead 2. No Valve or VOID Interactive files are included. Code: MIT, built with Claude Code.
