MW2 Killstreaks 4 Dead

Modern Warfare 2's killstreaks, inside Left 4 Dead 2. The menu, the HUD, the icons, the Task Force 141 announcer, the sounds and now the Sentry Gun's 3D model are read straight from your own MW2 install. Nothing from MW2 ships with the mod.

What you get

• A clickable MW2 killstreak menu. Press K in a saferoom to pick 3 of 8: UAV, Care Package, Sentry Gun, Predator Missile, Precision Airstrike, Harrier Strike, AC-130 and EMP. It uses MW2's own gold icons, selection bars and checkboxes.
• Streak points: common infected 1, special 5, Tank or Witch 25. Costs are MW2 kills × 10 (UAV 30 → EMP 150).
• Nobody dies, so streaks loop. Your bar starts over as soon as you earn your 3rd reward. Getting incapacitated resets everything.
• The hidden 4th killstreak: the Tactical Nuke. A secret counter reaches 250 points without you going down. Then you get MW2's multiplayer "nuke inbound" call, MW2's real countdown, a flash and slow motion, and every infected on the map dies. No horde spawns for 60 seconds, and an orange fallout fog hangs over the rest of the chapter.
• The real MW2 Sentry Gun (new in 0.2). MW2's own sentry, converted for Left 4 Dead 2 on your PC: its model and textures, a fixed tripod with a head that smoothly turns and tilts toward the infected, barrels that spin while it fires, and MW2's minigun sounds in 3D.
• Press G to call it in, and V to choose which one when several are unlocked. You fly the Predator yourself (mouse to steer, fire to boost). On the AC-130 you work all three guns (105 mm, 40 mm and 25 mm) with MW2's gunship reticles.
• MW2 red boxes: special infected are boxed through walls while your UAV is up, and every infected is boxed in the Predator and AC-130 views.
• A full MW2 HUD: animated killstreak icons and "KILLSTREAK EARNED" splashes, with TF141 voice lines, killstreak jingles and music played at your game's own volume.
• The aircraft are Left 4 Dead 2's own models: an F-18 for the jets and Harrier, a C-130 for the gunship, the rescue helicopter for the care-package drop, and a Maverick missile for the Predator.

Co-op

Up to 4 survivors, each with their own streak and their own 3 killstreaks. It also works solo with bots. Host a co-op game the usual way (Left 4 Dead 2 lobby or Steam invite). The host needs the mashup, and every player who wants the MW2 menu and HUD launches it from Melty too.

Needs

• Left 4 Dead 2 (Steam). The game runs windowed borderless so the MW2 overlay can sit on top.
• Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009, Steam), installed. Its images, sounds and models are read from your copy at first launch.
• Recommended: Left 4 Dead 2 Authoring Tools (free on Steam, in your Library under Tools). Its model compiler turns MW2's Sentry Gun into a Left 4 Dead 2 model on your PC. Without it, the sentry uses Left 4 Dead 2's .50 cal.
