Mario plays Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon with his full SM64 moveset.
Mario drops into Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon (through Goemon 64: Recompiled) with his real Super Mario 64 model, animations and moves: triple jumps, long jumps, wall kicks, ground pounds, dives and swimming, all with Goemon's collision, water and doors. Jumps top out at Goemon's own jump height, so everyone stays inside Goemon's levels.
The crew are Mario characters. Switch heroes with C-down as usual: Ebisumaru → Luigi, Sasuke → Yoshi, Yae → Koopa (the Mario Tennis Paratroopa, wings hidden, blue shell). They use the Mario Tennis models (faces included, rackets removed) and shout their Mario Tennis voice clips; Mario keeps his SM64 voice. The HUD portrait next to your Ryo shows Mario, Luigi, Yoshi or Koopa.
Two ways to play, switched with C-left (or L):
C-up magic, C-right map, R + C camera, Start pause, just like the original.
What you need: your own USA ROMs of Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon and Super Mario 64. Mario Tennis (USA) is optional: on the first launch you're asked once whether you have it; without it every hero is Mario. Melty finds the Goemon and SM64 ROMs on your PC and builds libsm64 from its public source; no game content is included in the download.
Single player. Known limits: ladders and wall-hanging in fist mode use Goemon's climbing, which SM64 controls don't reach yet (switch to a weapon to climb as Goemon).
Mod code MIT, remixes welcome with credit. Goemon 64: Recompiled (GPL-3.0) is included unmodified; libsm64 and the SM64 decompilation by their authors. Built with Claude using universal-modder.
