Risk of Madness 2 (BETA)

BETA. A big Risk of Rain 2 pack built around a new secret ending, with nine survivors, an item pack and a new stage.

The key hunt. Four Key Fragments are hidden across the run:

1. in front of the shopkeeper in the Bazaar Between Time
2. by the teleporter in The Forest of Balls (included)
3. at the Shrine of Rebirth in the False Son's arena (without Seekers of the Storm: by the altar on Abandoned Aqueduct)
4. where the artifact portal opens in Sky Meadow

Fragments count for the whole team. With all four, they fuse into the Sophisticated Key.

The Clawed Door. On Commencement, turn around when you land: a door held shut by white hands opens with the key.

The Sanctum of Sophistication. A ring around a giant red crystal, with floating crystals drifting overhead and three pathways to three altars:

• Altar of Speed: a parkour course of floating platforms.
• Altar of Damage: summons a random boss to kill.
• Altar of Survival: beetles pour in while everyone is at 1 health and can't jump, for 20 seconds.

Sophisticated Contortion, Aspect of Sophistication. Complete all three altars and the crystal lifts you to an arena high above. The boss is a colossal porcelain face with two floating hands burning with blue flames, fought to its own theme, "Doctor of Perfection":

• The Face: a mouth laser that tracks you, and red shining eyes that freeze you if you look into them.
• The Steady Hand: a finger gun, a snap that summons your doppelganger, and a floor slam that sends shockwaves across the arena.
• The Contorted Hand: grabs you and throws you across the arena, launches homing bombs, and slaps.

Beat it for an ending cutscene with Relivo, Neko and Loader, the victory screen, and the achievement Start of another madness.

Nine survivors to unlock. Lemon and the new Rubbish are available from the start:

• Rubbish: a crowned brute who throws boulders, leaps like a superhero, fires a pocket shotgun and suplexes enemies from the sky.
• Relivo: beat stage 1 in under 3 minutes.
• Chem: pick up 3 Shaped Glass.
• Grapriel: find the crying child hidden on stage 4.
• Neko: kill another player, or turn one into a drone with Boot Member.
• Hazza: have 12 enemies burning at once.
• Aqua: beat the Alloyed Collective's Solus Wing without jumping.
• Luma: beat Sophisticated Contortion.

Also included: Strange Loot (14 new items and equipment, including Boot Member) and The Forest of Balls stage.

Co-op: works in normal Risk of Rain 2 lobbies (up to 4 players; host a lobby and invite friends through Steam; everyone needs the pack). Seekers of the Storm is optional.
