Gloomwood's Doctor lands on Petrichor V, and he plays by Gloomwood's rules.
Pick The Doctor in Risk of Rain 2's character select and the whole run changes:
- First person, Gloomwood's own hands. The cane sword, revolver and shotgun are Gloomwood's real view models, animations and sounds, read from your installed copy of Gloomwood while the game runs.
- Monsters don't know you're there until they see or hear you. Crouch to shrink how far they can see you and to silence your steps. Stay out of sight and the hunt cools off.
- Silent kills. One cane-sword strike kills a monster that hasn't noticed you, and tears a third of the health off an unaware boss.
- Counted ammunition. Six rounds in the revolver, five shells in the shotgun, a handful in your pocket, reloaded by hand one at a time. Gunfire is loud and wakes everything nearby.
- Gloomwood's medhypo. Healing plays Gloomwood's own wrist injection, syringe and gloved hands included, and the health comes back when the needle goes in.
- Chests hold supplies, not upgrades. Revolver rounds and shotgun shells, rarely a medhypo or the shotgun itself. The Doctor never levels up; only the teleporter boss still drops a Risk of Rain 2 item.
Controls: primary fire strikes or shoots, secondary thrusts with the cane sword, utility toggles sneaking, special reloads. 1 2 3 or the mouse wheel switch weapons, F uses a medhypo.
Single player. You need both Risk of Rain 2 and Gloomwood installed: nothing from Gloomwood ships with this mashup, it is all read from your own copy.
