⚠️ Before playing: turn off Tutorials in Elden Ring's System settings. Tutorial pop-ups can get stuck on screen and can only be cleared through Elden Ring's own menu.
I'm a massive fan of the Jak and Daxter games, so I've tried to blend them into Elden Ring.
What you get
- Play as Jak with Daxter on his shoulder, using Jak 1's own models, animations, voices and sounds.
- Jak 1's moves 1:1: jumps, double jump, punch, spin kick, dive, uppercut, rolls and their combos, dealing real Elden Ring damage. No Elden Ring weapons or spells.
- Jak 1's heart in place of HP: 3 pieces, up to 6 with upgrades. Green eco heals you; poison drains your small green eco before it costs a heart.
- Blue, yellow, red and light eco. Light eco turns Jak into pearl-white Light Jak, with shields on every heart piece.
- Precursor orbs are your runes, dropped by enemies as real orbs to pick up.
- Precursor Upgrades replace Level Up at Sites of Grace: power, yellow, red, blue, green and light eco, each with big upgrades at levels 10, 20 and 30.
- Bosses give power cells, with Jak 1's victory animation and music. Power cells open the big gates (Grand Lift of Dectus, the Academy, Leyndell, the Grand Lift of Rold, the Haligtree).
- Scout flies: every enemy that drops an Ash of War leaves a scout fly crate. Smash it with a dive, uppercut or yellow eco blast.
- Cutscenes play with Jak in them, and the Flut Flut in Torrent's place.
- Jak 1's HUD and pause menu: power cells and scout flies by region, orb and scout fly counters.
- Torrent is the Flut Flut, with Jak 1's controls: a flapping double-jump glide, attacks, the ground pound and its own heart.
- A separate save: you start a fresh character, and your own Elden Ring saves aren't touched. Solo and offline.
Controls worth knowing
- RT: get on and off the Flut Flut. The whistle is put in a quick slot for you.
- LT: crush a Rune Arc to become Light Jak.
- Start: Jak 1's pause menu. Elden Ring's own menus are under OPTIONS (B) > ELDEN RING MENU. Y switches a region between power cells and scout flies.
- Y: Elden Ring's interact (loot, doors, talk), and it closes pop-ups.
- Rest at a Site of Grace and choose Level Up to buy upgrades with orbs.
You need
- Start as the Vagabond class to get Jak's model.
- Elden Ring shadow of the erd tree on Steam, version 2.7.1.0 (2.7.1.1 for the Japanese release).
- Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy installed through the OpenGOAL Launcher, from your own copy of the game (US is main version but PAL or Japanese may work), updated to its newest version.
On first start, the mod builds Jak, Daxter and the Flut Flut from your own OpenGOAL install. No files from either game are included in the download.

Patch notes
- 0.2.0
- New: Precursor Upgrades at Sites of Grace, with big upgrades every 10 levels (Triple Shot, Time Warp, extra hearts and more).
- New: Precursor orbs as runes, dropped as real orbs.
- New: light eco and Light Jak (from Rune Arcs, or LT), with heart shields. Light eco upgrades unlock with Remembrances.
- New: scout fly crates from every enemy that drops an Ash of War, counted by region.
- New: power cell gates. Big lifts and gates need enough power cells.
- New: Jak appears in cutscenes, and the Flut Flut takes Torrent's place in them. Daxter is hidden during them.
- New: Jak 1's idle animations after standing still, and when opening doors and levers.
- New: poison drains small green eco first.
- Heart redrawn: smaller, and up to 6 pieces in Jak 1's style.
- Flut Flut: Jak stays centred on the saddle when running, turning and jumping, and riding into a cave mouth now gets him off properly.
- Jak's hair no longer stretches when jumping or punching, and his arms and legs no longer have dark baked-in shadows.
- Yellow and light eco shots have longer trails and bigger impacts.
- Orbs play Jak 1's pickup sound.
- Fixed a spear and other hits missing Jak while standing still.
- Fixed NPCs and enemies sometimes turning into stretched rods.
- Setup now says when your OpenGOAL install is too old, instead of failing with an extractor error.
- 0.1.12: Protection against a crash about a minute after starting.
- 0.1.11: Fixed crashes after riding the Flut Flut. Steam is started first if it isn't running. Big enemies take damage wherever you hit them. Smoother roll jumps and air spins, no more clipping into walls. Flut Flut fixes for caves, walls, spiritsprings and the slam.
- 0.1.10: Fixed Jak's HUD and pause menu sometimes not showing.
- 0.1.9: Clearer setup error messages.
- 0.1.8: Setup works with PAL, Japanese and Greatest Hits copies of Jak 1.
- 0.1.7: The mod finds your OpenGOAL install by itself.
- 0.1.6: Y works again for Elden Ring's interact.
- 0.1.5: Y closes pop-ups. Fixed roll jumps stopping mid-air.
