Play The Evil Within as raw body-camera footage, with Bodycam's real gunfight sound read from your own copy of Bodycam.
The camera
Chest-mounted first person. Raise your gun and the cam moves up to Sebastian's head, with both hands and the gun in view.
Body-cam footage look: wide fisheye lens, sensor noise that gets heavier in the dark, compression smear, over-sharpening, blown highlights, colour fringing and a running timestamp. No watermark.
The view follows your mouse instantly and stops when you stop. Footsteps gently bob the frame and every shot kicks it. The cinematic letterbox bars are gone, and The Evil Within's small health and ammo HUD stays crisp on top.
The guns
Bodycam's real gunshots replace The Evil Within's on the handgun, shotgun, sniper rifle and Magnum: the punch, the room tail, the indoor reflections, the slide, pump and bolt mechanics, and the reloads.
Recoil kicks and recovers, and the muzzle flash lights the frame. After loud shots in tight rooms your hearing muffles and your ear rings.
Aiming uses The Evil Within's own reticles and sniper scope, seen through the body-cam lens.
The sound
A body-cam microphone on The Evil Within's own mix (low cut, presence boost, fast compression) brings enemies, footsteps and screams through close and crisp.
Good to know
Single player. Needs The Evil Within and Bodycam installed (Steam). Built for The Evil Within Steam build 2708258.
The first Play reads Bodycam's sounds from your Bodycam install (about 10 seconds). Nothing from either game is in the download.
The Evil Within has no tools for new animations, so the hands and aiming poses are Sebastian's own.
