Bodycam Survival

DayZ, aimed like Bodycam.

No crosshair: the gun moves first when you move the mouse and the camera follows about a second later, so the barrel, and where your shots land, is rarely the screen centre. Each gun's free aim spring and recoil pattern are read from your Bodycam install every time you press Play; nothing from Bodycam is shipped. Guns keep DayZ's own sounds, magazines and reloads.

Three modes

• Survival: all of Chernarus in full DayZ PvP: loot, infected, animals and each other. Pick your start every life: Fresh spawn, Armed start (Glock 19) or Inland drop. Characters are saved on the host.
• PvP Arena: Camp Druzhba, 9 cabins in the woods. Pick two weapons and a pistol from all 59 DayZ firearms. Weapon 1 in hand, weapon 2 on your back, pistol and two grenades ready: keys 1-5. Jacket full of weapon 1's magazines, pants of weapon 2's, vest of the pistol's. No infected, quick respawn, kill feed with kill counts. Leave the zone and a 5-second countdown starts.
• 1v1 Tournament: plain DayZ (no Bodycam aiming, DayZ's crosshair). Two random players fight with one life; the loser is out. Everyone else watches as an invisible free-flying spectator. Last one standing wins, everyone's stats show, and the next tournament starts.

Playing together

• Press Play to host and pick the mode (Survival starts by itself after 15 s). Up to 8 players.
• Friends join from Melty's join link and land in your mode automatically.
• Same home network: always works. Over the internet: your router must forward UDP 2302 to your PC (automatic when it allows UPnP), or play over a shared VPN (Tailscale, ZeroTier, Radmin VPN).

Good to know

• You need DayZ and Bodycam on Steam, each player on their own Steam account. Without Bodycam the game still runs and you aim like plain DayZ.
• Everyone plays through DayZ's own DayZDiag build (it comes with every DayZ install), the build that can host. Private friends' servers: BattlEye off. The first time you host, Windows may ask whether DayZDiag can use the network: allow it.
