Every Escape the Backrooms level becomes a Phasmophobia contract.
One of Phasmophobia's 24 ghost types haunts a room somewhere on the level. Find the ghost room, gather evidence with Phasmophobia's equipment, keep your sanity up, survive its hunts, and name the ghost in your journal.
What's in it
- Escape the Backrooms is the world: its real levels, lights and pathways, with a new ghost on every level.
- Phasmophobia brings the rules and its own content: all 24 ghost types with their real evidence, hunt thresholds and speeds. Ghost names, journal pages, equipment names and sounds (Spirit Box answers, EMF beeps, ghost writing, hunting voices, footsteps, ghost events) are read from your own Phasmophobia install while you play.
- Seven tools: EMF Reader, Thermometer, Spirit Box, Ghost Writing Book, UV Light, Video Camera and D.O.T.S.
- Sanity and hunts: sanity drains in the Backrooms, and faster in the ghost room. Ghost events cost sanity, and low sanity brings on the game's own insanity effect. Below the ghost's threshold it hunts: the lights stutter, you hear it coming, and it walks the level toward you. If it catches you, you die and respawn at your checkpoint. Break its line of sight to lose it.
- The journal: evidence ticks itself as you find it and narrows the list of possible ghosts. Lock in your guess: get it right and the contract is complete; get it wrong and the ghost hunts.
