Terraria keeps turning into a Henry Stickmin moment. Time freezes, Henry's choice wheel pops up with the Collection's own gadget icons, and you pick. Choose well and Terraria pays off. Choose badly and you get a real Henry Stickmin FAIL screen with that gadget's own FAIL line and sting - then Terraria makes you live with it.
What's new in 0.2.0
- You play as Henry Stickman - his own sprite replaces your character.
- The Right Hand Man - Henry's rival, now a Terraria boss: 2235 HP, a laser eye, drawn from the Collection's own art. Summon him with the new Top Hat item (an old hat Henry can't get rid of).
- Choice moments fire far more often - new wheels for boss spawns, every item you use, damage you take, and death itself (a last choice over the death screen). 20 moments, 73 choices now; the first wheel comes after 20 seconds, wheels are at least 30 seconds apart, and Henry's random ideas come every 3-5 minutes.
What a player gets
- Plays inside Terraria 1.4.5+ (single player). StickminFate.exe in the Terraria folder loads your own Terraria and patches it in memory with Harmony - Terraria's files are never changed.
- 20 choice moments: opening a chest, talking to a town NPC, the caverns, nightfall, slime rain, low health, Blood Moon, space, the Underworld, a new resident, the desert, the snow, the jungle, a free-falling plunge, Henry's random ideas, a timed near-death save, plus the new boss / item / damage / death moments.
- 73 choices with the Collection's own icons (Teleporter, Falcon Punch, Rocket Jump, Tank, Parachute, Retro Glove, Top Hat...). Wrong picks show the Collection's own FAIL screen with that gadget's FAIL message and one of its FAIL stings; right picks give loot, buffs, heals, launches and escapes.
- The near-death save: when a hit, fall, lava or drowning would kill you, you get 4 seconds to pick a way out. A FAIL means the death goes ahead.
- Captions from the Collection's own dialogue ("Oh look, a penny.", "Don't move a muscle!"). The world pauses while you choose; pick with the mouse or number keys 1-4, Esc ignores an untimed moment.
Henry Stickmin is really in it
Nothing from The Henry Stickmin Collection ships with this mod. On first launch it finds your Steam copy (app 1089980), renders Henry's icons, FAIL screens, Henry and the Right Hand Man with its own Flash renderer, and copies the sounds into %LOCALAPPDATA%\StickminFate\cache (about 3 seconds). The captions are read from the Collection's *_english.txt files. Without the Collection installed, the mod says so in Terraria's chat and stays out of the way.
