Play Raft, build with real Minecraft. Press B on your raft for a Minecraft hotbar, and Tab for Minecraft's own creative inventory: over 900 real Minecraft blocks to build with on your foundations. They ride the raft across Raft's ocean.
New in 0.8.0
- You are a Minecraft player: Minecraft's player model wearing your own skin, Minecraft height, and F5 third-person views like Minecraft.
- Boats on Raft's sea and on Minecraft water: every wood, the bamboo raft and chest boats, with Minecraft's handling. Sharks leave you alone in one.
- Minecarts on Minecraft rails, with powered, detector and activator rails and chest, hopper, furnace and TNT carts.
- Ladders, vines and scaffolding, fire (endless on netherrack, blue soul fire) and moving textures for fire, lava and water.
- F3 debug screen with real coordinates, F7 light levels, and a block highlight that fits each block's shape.
New in 0.7.0
- Minecraft weapons: swords, axes and even your fist hit Raft's sharks and enemies with Minecraft's damage. A wooden sword hits like Raft's wooden spear, and a netherite sword hits far harder. Wait for Minecraft's attack cooldown under the crosshair for full damage, and hit while falling for critical hits.
- Minecraft tools and survival digging: hold left mouse to break blocks in Minecraft's own time, with its cracks and sounds. A pickaxe makes short work of stone and a shovel of dirt, from wooden to netherite.
- Tools on Raft's world too: chop Raft's trees and take down Raft pieces with a Minecraft axe, and gather rock, ore, sand and clay piles with a pickaxe or shovel.
- Tools & Utilities and Combat tabs in the inventory, and a RaftCraft loaded sign on the title screen once Minecraft is ready.
New in 0.6.0
- Minecraft block physics: slime bounces you, ice slides, soul sand, honey and cobwebs slow you, hay softens falls, and magma and cactus hurt.
- Farming: till dirt with a hoe, plant seeds and watch crops, saplings and grass grow by themselves. Bone meal speeds them up with Minecraft's sparkles, and jumping on farmland tramples it.
- Pistons slide the blocks they push, and sand and gravel fall.
- Footsteps sound like each Minecraft block, Raft's day and night drives daylight sensors, and glass and water look clean.
New in 0.5.0
- Chests that work: press E on chests, double chests, ender chests, barrels, shulker boxes, dispensers and hoppers for Minecraft's own container screen. The lids swing open and hoppers fill chests while you watch.
- Pressure plates and tripwires trigger when you walk over them.
- Drop items with Q. They're real Minecraft items that press plates, trip tripwires and get pulled into hoppers. Walk over them to pick them up.
- Minecraft's sounds play in Raft: placing, breaking, doors, clicks, chests and pickups.
- Middle-click a block to put it on your hotbar.
A real Minecraft: Java Edition runs alongside Raft and keeps every block alive with Minecraft's own rules:
- Redstone works: flip a lever and the dust lights up and powers a redstone lamp.
- Water and lava flow: pour them on the raft and they spread, run off the edges, and drain when you scoop the source.
- Torches, lanterns, lamps and lava glow at night on your raft.
- Real Minecraft placement: stairs face the way you look, torches need something to stand on.
- Solid to stand on: climb your Minecraft builds like any part of the raft.
- Saved per Raft world: your blocks are still there next time, for each of your Raft saves.
Raft items on Minecraft blocks: put chests, cooking stands, grills, plants, lights, beds and other Raft items on top of your Minecraft builds with Raft's own building - aim anywhere on a block and the item centres on it. Break the block underneath and the item comes back to you with its contents.
Feels like Minecraft: the selected block is in your hand, with Minecraft's arm swing, equip motion and break particles; stairs and slabs walk like in Minecraft; Raft's crosshair is Minecraft's.
The Minecraft inventory in Raft looks and works like Minecraft's creative screen, drawn with your own Minecraft's textures and font: Building, Colored, Natural, Functional, Redstone, Tools & Utilities and Combat tabs plus Search, 3D block icons rendered by Minecraft (chests and shulker boxes included), tooltips, and drag and drop into your hotbar (or click, Shift+click, swap and clear slots). A UI Size slider sets it to 25-100%. Your hotbar is remembered, and Raft's crosshair is Minecraft's.
Blocks, models, textures and the UI come from your own copy of Minecraft while you play; nothing from either game is included.
Controls: B build mode • Tab inventory • right mouse place/use • left mouse hold to dig, click to hit · F5 view · F3 debug · F7 light levels · G break mode • E use / open • Q drop • middle mouse pick block • 1-9 or wheel pick a slot.
First Play: Prism Launcher opens once so you can sign in to Minecraft; Minecraft then downloads itself and Raft starts when it's ready. After that, Raft starts Minecraft by itself (minimised) and closes it when you quit. Single player.
