Portal Gun DOOM

Doomguy gets the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device. Play DOOM and DOOM II's own maps with a portal gun on weapon slot 1, and GLaDOS watching.

What you can do

• Fire opens a blue portal, Alt-fire an orange one, Reload closes both. Portals open on walls, floors and ceilings.
• Each portal shows a live view of what's beyond the other one.
• You, demons and projectiles (rockets, plasma, imp fireballs) go through with their speed: drop an imp through the floor, fall into a floor portal and get flung out of a wall, or send a rocket around a corner.
• No portals on doors, switches, lifts, moving floors or sky.

Really Portal, from your own copy When you press Play, the mashup reads Portal's portal-gun sounds, GLaDOS's real voice lines and her captions, and "Still Alive" from your own Portal install. GLaDOS welcomes you, comments when you start a level, die, find secrets, make big kills or fling yourself, and closes each level on the intermission screen while "Still Alive" plays. No Portal or DOOM files are included.

Good to know

• Single player. Works with DOOM, DOOM II and the other IWADs you own in GZDoom.
• Portals are drawn on the surface rather than cut into it: you see the live view and pass through when you touch it. In DOOM's 2.5D engine some steep angles (especially through floor and ceiling portals) look a little off.
• The gun is a DOOM-style sprite drawn for this mod. Pistol, shotgun and chaingun bullets don't go through portals.
