Vault, climb and grapple across Dead Island with Dying Light’s movement rules.
A solo movement mashup played inside Dead Island Definitive Edition. Both games are required: Dead Island provides its world, player and native hand animations; the mod reads jump limits and grapple range from your installed Dying Light. No game content is bundled.
Use Jump near supported obstacles to vault, climb and mantle. For nearby straw roofs, face a reachable eave and press Jump without Aim. The overhang approach can step clear of an eave before lifting onto a supported slope. Aim + Jump pulls to a safe ledge, including lower ledges, with a dotted tether, forward grab/pull poses and a final mantle. Obstructed or unsupported targets are refused. An optional short numbered route near the resort safehouse links the porch, a clear ground approach and beach roof.
Alpha 4 passed Melty’s installed-release test: two two-minute creator-played runs, with recordings reviewed for grapple pulls, mantles, roof arrivals and return to ordinary movement. Local native-input tests also cover the main straw-house overhang, supported slopes and unchanged landing health. Not every roof is reachable. Known limitation: return to an equipped weapon after the new grab/pull poses has not been verified. The included development notes retain that unfinished check. No new campaign, custom edge-aligned grips or multiplayer.
Original integration: MIT, remixes allowed. Created for Michael Yancey with OpenAI Codex assistance. Techland retains all rights to both games; their files and animations are read from each player’s own copies.
