By felipejoys. PEAK + Left 4 Dead 2, experimental release 0.1.0.
Climb PEAK while common infected approach in overlapping hordes. Pick up the M16 assault rifle near the first campfire with Interact; fire with your primary-use input and press G to holster. Rifle ammo is unlimited; a crosshair appears while wielding it. The first wave begins after 30 seconds. Waves contain eight infected per living player, then recur every 45-60 seconds. Infected approach from terrain toward the next fire, run, climb ledges, fall, attack mid-animation, and target different players. Corpses ragdoll and disappear after 60 seconds. Original L4D2 infected, rifle and horde sounds are read at runtime. No special infected or other guns.
Requires installed Windows Steam copies of PEAK and Left 4 Dead 2. Tested locally on PEAK 2.6.b and L4D2 2.2.4.3. Other versions unverified. L4D2 provides content and does not run alongside PEAK. No game assets are distributed.
Solo and multiplayer through PEAK's existing Steam lobby system. Host using Host Game; friends join through PEAK/Steam. Every participant needs this same mod and both games. No dedicated server or port forwarding. Multiplayer synchronization is implemented but a two-player join has not been verified. Automatic Melty joining is not configured.
Melty installs BepInEx for PEAK and the plugin. The original mod code is MIT licensed; remixes and redistribution are allowed with the license notice. PEAK and Left 4 Dead 2 assets remain their owners' property and are excluded from this license. Credits: felipejoys (mod); Landfall/Aggro Crab (PEAK); Valve (Left 4 Dead 2). BepInEx/Harmony are supplied by the loader; Unity/Newtonsoft/Photon are supplied by PEAK. Source format references: Valve Source SDK studio.h and uSource (Source-format reference project); no reference project binaries or assets bundled.
Validation: C# build and 22-row asset preflight pass; Unity collision, climb/fall routing, melee animation and committed 3m ledge tests pass. Full terrain coverage, co-op joining, and sustained overlapping-wave performance remain unverified.
