PEAK skate.

Before you play: PEAK skate. needs both PEAK and skate. installed on Steam (skate. is free to play). Open skate. once so Steam finishes installing it, and keep both games up to date: an out-of-date or half-installed PEAK or skate. is the most common reason it won't start. If it still won't start, update both games in Steam, then press Play again. PEAK skate. also checks itself on the title screen and tells you what to fix.

PEAK skate. puts skate.'s boards, sounds and soundtrack into PEAK. Double-tap B (or D-pad down) to pull a board out of your backpack, push off, and skate the beach, the trails, the airport skate park and anywhere flat enough to roll.

New in 0.1.8

• Startup check: when PEAK starts, the title screen shows "PEAK skate. ready · skate. found · double-tap B to ride". If something's wrong (skate. missing or out of date, PEAK updated, errors), a box tells you exactly what and how to fix it, and saves a report to %LOCALAPPDATA%\PeakSkate\peakskate-report.txt you can send if you need help.
• More reliable after PEAK updates: if an update breaks one part of the mod, the rest still loads instead of nothing starting.

New in 0.1.7

• New controls: getting on the board is now a double-tap of B / D-pad down, so a stray press never pulls it out. One tap (or Y) puts it away. Off the board, PEAK's controls are completely normal.
• Pick your deck in the passport: your passport has a new BOARD tab with every deck graphic from your skate. install.
• No items on the board: whatever you're holding goes in your pocket while you ride and comes back when you step off.
• Controller flicks match skate. exactly, plus stalls, pumping, wallrides, no comply, boneless, a game of S.K.A.T.E., skate school and skate spot challenges in every biome.
• Falls are real again: big drops hurt and huge ones slam you off the board.

What's in it

• Real skating feel: a sideways stance, pushing with your back foot, knees that soak up landings, tucking for speed downhill and gliding on snow.
• skate.'s flick-it controls: the right stick does ollies, kickflips, heelflips, shove-its, 360 flips, hardflips, varials and more. Grind and slide any rail or ledge, manual, grab, revert, stall on coping, pump ramps, wallride and wallie. Keyboard players get keys for every trick.
• Tricks for stamina: chain tricks into a line. Landing it refills your stamina, and anything past full becomes PEAK's bonus stamina. New tricks and variety score more. Bails knock you down and score in the Hall of Meat.
• Skate 3 style HUD: a flick-stick circle draws your flick so you can learn the gestures, and a full trick list (controller and keyboard) is in the pause menu.
• Things to do: a skate park at the airport, a warm-up kicker and ledge at camp, skate school to learn the basics, a game of S.K.A.T.E. against friends or the PEAK BOT, and skate spot challenges in every biome.
• skate.'s own content: its licensed soundtrack plays while you ride, with real skate. pop, roll, grind and landing sounds, skate.'s deck, trucks and wheels, and its deck graphics.
• Made for friends: boards, tricks and lines are shared over PEAK's own lobby, so your crew can see each other ride.

You need your own copy of skate. installed and up to date. The mod reads skate.'s files from your install while you play. It never starts or connects to skate., and nothing from skate. ships with the mod.
