Cuphead in REPLACED

Cuphead walks out of the 1930s and into REPLACED's 1980s dystopia, and he brought his own rules.

What you get

• Cuphead or Mugman instead of R.E.A.C.H., hand-drawn animation and all, in play and in cutscenes. Pick on REPLACED's main menu: PLAYER: CUPHEAD / MUGMAN.
• REPLACED's brawling is gone. You fight with the Peashooter, aimed in eight directions.
• Parry the attacks REPLACED telegraphs as counterable (they glow pink). A parry slaps the attacker and earns a super card.
• EX shots: spend a card on a big piercing blast. Cards also fill as your shots land.
• Three hit points on the Cuphead HP card. Any hit costs one. No healing.
• "Ready? WALLOP!" from Cuphead's announcer when a fight starts, "A KNOCKOUT!" when you win it, "YOU DIED!" and the death card with the little runner when you don't.
• REPLACED's world, enemies, story, platforming and music stay exactly as they are.

You need REPLACED (the game you play in) and your own installed copy of Cuphead. Nothing from Cuphead is in the download: his art, HUD and sounds are read from your copy while REPLACED runs.

Solo. The first start is a minute or two slower and needs to be online once, while the bundled loader readies itself for REPLACED.

Tested on REPLACED 1.1.3.0 with Cuphead's current Steam build: the prologue, a story cutscene, and full fights in REPLACED's combat arena (Peashooter knockouts, EX shot, parry, three hits to death, YOU DIED, checkpoint respawn, Mugman swap). The whole story has not been played through yet; later chapters and bosses run on the same systems but are unverified.
