Cast a line in How to Fish and Minecraft bites back.
What's in it
- Minecraft fish on your hook. About 6 in 10 bites are Minecraft fish: Cod, Salmon, Tropical Fish, Pufferfish and Squid, with their real Minecraft models, textures and sounds. They're still How to Fish catches, so they flop, cook, sell and go in your journal like any other fish, under their Minecraft names.
- A Minecraft island off the dock. A little island of real Minecraft blocks sits just off the start island: grass, sand, an oak tree, a plank pier to fish from, and a prismarine pillar topped with a glowing sea lantern. Boat or swim over and walk around on it.
- A Guardian guards it. Minecraft's Guardian circles the island. Get within about 14 m and it locks its beam on you, charges with its own creepy hum, and zaps you for a fifth of your health.
The Blocky quest (new in 0.2)
- Break the island's prismarine and the Guardian rises as a boss. Take its body to the trader and he marks a dirt block on your map.
- It leads to a block remake of island 4: a casino on the hill (slot machines and roulette), a general store with How to Fish's own baits and goods, an armory with every weapon and dynamite. Everything costs blocks, a new currency.
- Buy a cubic lure and fish up tadpoles, glow squids, axolotls, sea turtles and dolphins, and now and then How to Fish's own fish rebuilt in pixel blocks.
- The Drowned miniboss throws its trident. Put 3 dynamite next to its body and the Fugu rises. Beat it while it's blue for the blocky ending: Minecraft's end poem, then the credits.
- Choose Russian or English on first start. Die near the block island and you respawn there.
Play together
Co-op for up to 8 players through How to Fish's own Steam lobbies. Everyone sees the same island, the same Guardian and the same Minecraft fish.
What you need
- How to Fish (Steam). This is the game you play.
- Minecraft: Java Edition, installed and launched at least once. Blocky Seas reads Minecraft's blocks, creatures and sounds from your own copy every time you play. Nothing from either game is included in the download.
