Wake up on a beach with a rock and a torch. Survive.
Rustcraft brings Rust's survival loop into Minecraft: Java Edition (1.21.1, Fabric). Rust's real items are read from your own installed copy of Rust, so you need both games.
It looks like Rust
A Rust-style HUD: health, calories and hydration bars with Rust's own item icons, condition chips for bleeding, radiation and temperature, a compass strip across the top and your ammo count beside the hotbar.
Dark steel inventory, crafting, furnace and workbench panels with an orange hotbar selection.
Rust's own item art, cleaned up and shown as thick 3D held items: the hatchet, pickaxe, AK and the rest look like the Rust tools you know. Names, descriptions, stack sizes and icons come straight from your Rust install.
What's Rust in here
Rust's survival meters: thirst, cold (with temperature), bleeding and radiation.
Rust-style gathering: logs give wood, stone gives stones, iron ore gives metal fragments, grass gives cloth.
Wildlife that finds you: bears, wolves and boars. Hunt them for Rust meat, leather and fat, then cook the meat on a campfire, furnace or smoker.
Workbenches level 1 to 3: craft better gear from a Rust-style menu. Guns like the revolver, Thompson, bolt rifle and AK need their blueprint first: find it in monument crates, or hold the weapon you found and research it with scrap.
What's Minecraft here
Minecraft's world, building and crafting, with Rust-style recipes.
Tiered walls and doors: wood, stone, sheet metal and armored. Upgrade walls with the hammer. Satchels and C4 wear them down stage by stage, and you can see the cracks spread.
Code locks on doors and wood boxes: type /code and the digits while looking at it. Raiders and charges can still blow them open.
Workbenches and boxes are real 3D models, not plain cubes.
Your first playthrough
Start on a beach with a rock and a torch. Scavenge, craft a hatchet, find water, watch for bears.
Build a base, drop a sleeping bag (your spawn and base centre), put in a door and a lock, upgrade the walls.
Raid the monuments: Gas Station, Airfield and Launch Site, each with Rust loot, scientists in hazmat suits and, at the bigger ones, radiation. Bring a hazmat suit.
Every couple of days at dusk, AI raiders walk up to your base and plant satchel charges on your walls and doors.
Solo. No multiplayer in this version.
You need: Minecraft: Java Edition (with your Minecraft account) and Rust on Steam. The first start downloads Minecraft 1.21.1 and Fabric.
Rust's art and data stay on your PC; nothing from Rust is shipped. Unofficial fan project, not affiliated with Facepunch or Mojang.
