You play real Rust, on your own Rust server that runs on your PC, and 7 Days to Die's zombies roam it. By day they wander and walk; at night they run. Every 7th night a blood-moon horde comes for your base.
What you get
- All of Rust: its map, gathering, crafting, building and guns.
- 7 Days to Die's zombies, read from your own 7 Days to Die: 17 types (Boe, Joe, Moe, Arlene, Nurse, Business Man, Utility Worker, Soldier, Biker, Fat Cop, Hazmat, the ferals and the Demolisher), each with 7DTD's own health, speed and damage. In Rust they are Rust's zombies in its mummy suit (the common walkers) or scarecrow suit (the tougher types).
- Day to day like 7DTD: zombies spawn around you from 7DTD's spawn tables for your biome. They walk by day and run from 22:00 to 06:00.
- The 7th night: from 22:00 to 04:00, under Rust's red moon, 7DTD's horde for how long you've survived spawns around your base (your Tool Cupboard, when you're home; otherwise it hunts you where you are) and attacks it. Zombies break Rust walls and doors at 7DTD's block-damage rates, so a Stone wall takes as many hits as 7DTD cobblestone. Build, upgrade, defend.
- A day counter on your HUD ("DAY 6 - horde in 1 days"), red on horde day. Days last 60 minutes, as in 7DTD.
Solo. The server runs only on your PC.
Needs Rust and 7 Days to Die installed. The first Play takes a while: Melty downloads Rust's free dedicated server (about 6 GB, from Steam) and the Carbon mod framework, then builds the map once. After that each Play starts the server in about a minute and drops you straight in. Your world is saved in %LOCALAPPDATA%\RustDays.
