Rafa on Pandora

Borderlands 2 meets Borderlands 4. You play BL2, and Rafa the Exo-Soldier, the Order and BL4's loot come along. Their text and sounds are read live from your own Borderlands 4 install.

Gunzerking now also brings out one of Rafa's action skills. Your top Gunzerker skill tree picks which one:

• Gun Lust → Peacebreaker Cannons: shoulder cannons auto-fire at enemies in front of you, with an explosive round every 8th shot.
• Rampage → Arc-Knives: melee hits deal triple damage and mark enemies, who then take +40% damage. Dashing cuts through enemies in your path.
• Brawn → APOPHIS Lance: 3 charges of explosive arm-cannon blasts (X).

Each skill's name and description come from BL4, and Rafa's real BL4 voice lines play when it starts, on kills and when you level up.

BL4 movement, for every Vault Hunter

Double jump, glide (hold Jump), dash (Left Alt or double-tap Sprint) and grapple (Q: latches onto the enemy nearest your crosshair). All of it uses BL4's movement sounds.

The Order invades

In Southern Shelf and Three Horns, bandits become Order troops. They get BL4 Order names and ranks, BL4 Order traits (Fast Forward, Rewind, Stim Pak, Garnished) and BL4 Order trooper voices. An option turns this on everywhere.

BL4 loot overhaul

Plain BL2 drops can roll into:

• BL4-maker guns: Order charged shots, Daedalus alt-ammo blasts or Ripper spin-up.
• BL4 Firmware.
• BL4 legendaries: Noisy Cricket, Oscar Mike, Star Helix, Anarchy, Complex Root, Katagawa's Revenge, Ravenfire, Potato Thrower IV, Truck and Streamer, each with its BL4 name and red text, shown on the BL2 item card.

Every BL2 legendary and unique stays exactly as it is: Unkempt Harold, Grog Nozzle, pearls, seraphs, e-tech.

Good to know

• Solo. Needs Borderlands 2 and Borderlands 4 installed. Nothing from either game is included: the first start reads your BL4 files for about 20 s and caches them on your PC.
• BL2's engine can't draw BL4's 3D models, so Order troops and BL4 guns use BL2 bodies. Their names, text, effects and sounds are BL4's.
• Includes the Willow2 Mod Manager (BL2 Python SDK). Keybinds are in Mods → Rafa on Pandora.
