OverCraft

Play real Minecraft survival as an Overwatch hero.

Pick Reinhardt, Tracer or Mercy from a hero menu and drop into an ordinary Minecraft world with their kit, their ultimate and their voice. The hero you see is the real one: OverCraft reads the hero's model, animations, textures, voice lines, portraits and ability icons from your own Overwatch 2 install while it runs. Overwatch itself is never started or changed.

The heroes

• Reinhardt: swing the Rocket Hammer through a crowd of zombies (it digs like a pickaxe too), raise the Barrier Field against skeleton arrows, Charge a creeper into a cliff, throw a Fire Strike, and call "Hammer down!" with Earthshatter.
• Tracer: Pulse Pistols, three Blinks to cross ravines, Recall to undo a bad fall, and a sticky Pulse Bomb.
• Mercy: heal and damage-boost friends, pets, villagers and golems with the Caduceus Staff, glide with Angelic Descent, fly to an ally with Guardian Angel, bring a fallen friend back with Resurrect, and take to the sky with Valkyrie.

Still Minecraft

Your hero's weapon is a hotbar item. Hold anything else and you mine, build, farm and craft as always. Hunger, nights, the Nether and the Ender Dragon are all still there; you just face them with 40 health and a hammer, or 14 health and a time machine.

Play together

Co-op for 2 to 8 players: press Play, open or create a world, and friends join from your Melty link, each as their own hero. The host can switch on duels (hero menu, or /overcraft duels on) so hero abilities hurt other players too.

Controls

Left and right mouse fire the held hero weapon. R and V are the two abilities, Z is the ultimate, H opens the hero menu. All can be changed in Minecraft's Controls.

Good to know

• You need Minecraft: Java Edition (your own account) and Overwatch 2 installed (Steam or Battle.net). OverCraft brings its own Minecraft 1.21.1 instance.
• The first start reads the three heroes out of your Overwatch files. That takes a minute or two and about 700 MB of disk, once per Overwatch update.
• Voice lines are Overwatch's own. Weapon sound effects are Minecraft sounds in this version.
