Mario Regalia

Play Super Mario 64 Coop Deluxe as Sybil from Pseudoregalia: her model, her outfits, her animations and sounds, and her whole moveset with Pseudoregalia's own movement values, in every course of Super Mario 64. Mario 64's levels, enemies, stars and music stay as they are.

Nothing from Pseudoregalia or Super Mario 64 comes with this mashup. On the first Play, Mario Regalia reads Sybil from your own Pseudoregalia install and builds her for Coop Deluxe on your PC (a few seconds; again only when Pseudoregalia updates). Super Mario 64 comes from your own ROM, and Super Mario 64 Coop Deluxe is fetched from its official release on GitHub.

What you get

• Sybil's moveset, all of it from the start: her run and sprint, the Dream Breaker three-hit combo (on the ground and in the air), slide, Solar Wind long jump, Sun Greaves wall kicks and air kicks, Sunsetter plunge and its high jump, back hop, wall ride, ledge grab, coyote time and jump buffering. Speeds, gravity, jump curves and timings are read from your copy of Pseudoregalia.
• Mario 64 works with her moves: doors, signs and Toads, picking up and throwing, the Whomp's Fortress plank, slides and slopes, swimming, caps (the Wing Cap takes off from her Sunsetter high jump), cannons, C-Up first person and the Wing Cap secret.
• Poles and trees climb like Pseudoregalia's poles: up and down the stick, turn around them, perch on top, jump off.
• Pseudoregalia's camera, with Coop Deluxe's own camera for cutscenes, first person and flying.
• All 12 outfits with an outfit viewer: press D-pad Down while standing (or use the mod menu, or type /sybil outfit).
• Goatling butlers from Pseudoregalia's castle in place of Toads (they still give you their stars and messages).
• Online co-op for up to 16 players through Coop Deluxe. Everyone picks Sybil or Mario for themselves, and everyone sees each other's outfits and moves.

Options are in Coop Deluxe's pause menu under Mod Menu → Mario Regalia: play as Sybil or Mario, the outfit viewer, goatlings instead of Toads, Pseudoregalia's camera, and inverted camera axes. /sybil on, /sybil off and /sybil outfit work in chat too.

Requirements

• Pseudoregalia installed (Steam).
• Your own Super Mario 64 (USA) ROM (.z64). Melty finds it on your PC.

If something goes wrong

Logs are in %LOCALAPPDATA%\MarioRegalia: import.log (building Sybil), game.log (Coop Deluxe), setup.log (fetching Coop Deluxe). Mario Regalia's own log is log.txt inside the mod's save data.

The mod (Lua), its design sheets and tools are MIT licensed: remix it freely, with credit. MarioRegalia.exe, the program that reads Sybil from Pseudoregalia, is GPL-3.0 because it includes the ooz Kraken decompressor; its full source is in source/. See CREDITS.md for everyone whose work this builds on.
