Play Minecraft inside Dark Souls III. Steve walks Lothric in first person with his hotbar, hearts and hunger, builds on its walls and floors, and fights its enemies, while the Ashen One follows him unseen.
What you get
Steve in Lothric. Minecraft's first-person view, movement, jumping, hand, hotbar, hearts and hunger, drawn inside
Dark Souls III's own picture (Minecraft's blocks hide behind Lothric's walls).
Build anywhere. Place and break Minecraft blocks on Lothric's floors and walls: bridges, walls, stairs. Lothric's
own ground is solid to Steve but can't be dug.
Fight Lothric's enemies. Hollows, knights and bosses get Minecraft hitboxes: your hits take their real Dark Souls III
health, their attacks hurt Steve, and they die Dark Souls III's own death.
Proportional damage. A blow that would cost the Ashen One a share of his health costs Steve that share of 20
health (at least half a heart). Minecraft armour and Protection reduce it, and a raised shield blocks hits from the front.
Lothric's loot, Minecraft's gear. Enemies Steve kills drop Minecraft materials by how tough they were (bosses drop
the most). The first time you light each bonfire, a supply chest appears beside Steve, with a better sword and kit
the further into the game it is (stone up to netherite).
Bonfires restore Steve. Resting at a bonfire as the Ashen One also refills Steve's health and food.
One life. Die in either game and you die in both; you respawn at your last bonfire, like in Dark Souls III.
A fresh survival run. LothCraft has its own Dark Souls III save: start a new character in the Cemetery of Ash. Steve
starts in survival with a wooden sword, 32 oak planks and 8 steak.
F8 hands control to the Ashen One (menus, bonfires, Estus, warping) and back to Steve.
Single player, offline only.
What you need
Dark Souls III (Steam, version 1.15.2) and Minecraft: Java Edition (a Microsoft account that owns it).
Nothing else: Melty installs ModEngine2, and LothCraft brings its own Minecraft launcher (Prism Launcher), which asks
you to sign in to Minecraft once.
Safe for your account and saves
Dark Souls III never goes online while LothCraft runs: every connection to FromSoftware's servers is blocked.
LothCraft uses its own save file (LC30000.sl2 next to your DS30000.sl2); your own Dark Souls III saves are never
read or written. Start Dark Souls III normally (outside Melty) for your usual game.
