BioShock 2's campaign with Borderlands 2 loot: rarity beams, real BL2 guns, damage numbers, crits, elements and a shield.
BioShock 2's campaign, played with Borderlands 2's guns, loot and combat rules.
Borderlands guns, for real. Splicers drop Borderlands 2 guns: BL2's own models, built from each maker's parts and painted by maker and rarity, read from your Borderlands 2 install. You hold them in Salvador's arms with BL2's first-person animations: draw, idle, fire (with BL2 muzzle flashes, tinted by element) and each maker's reload.
Loot in Rapture. Kills and containers drop guns that lie on the floor under a rarity beam (white, green, blue, purple, orange). Each has a BL2 maker (Bandit, Dahl, Hyperion, Jakobs, Maliwan, Tediore, Torgue, Vladof), a BL2 name built from that maker's real name parts, and rolled Damage, Accuracy, Fire Rate and Magazine Size. Walk up and look at one to see its card compared with what you carry, press E to take it.
Borderlands damage. Floating damage numbers, red criticals on head and neck hits, fire, shock, corrosive and slag elements.
Shields. A BL2 shield soaks damage before your health and recharges after a few seconds out of combat; hits light the screen edges blue, and "Shield broken" flashes when it runs out.
Single player. Needs BioShock 2 (original) and Borderlands 2 on Steam. The BL2 models need BioShock 2's default renderer (Direct3D 10).
Coming next: experience and levels, the Borderlands HUD, inventory and backpack, Salvador's Gunzerking and skill tree, plasmids as grenade mods and enemy level scaling.
