Rainbow Six 3's hostage rescue comes to DOOM II. Clear three close-quarters urban operations with your Rainbow team, lead every hostage — and every terrorist who gives up — out alive, and let Control call the mission.
What you get
A DOOM II / Rainbow Six 3 title page and opening menu. A live street scene outside the bank with DOOM II's logo, the Rainbow emblem and R6 3's operative roster; the menu sits inside R6 3's laptop frame. Options for R6 3 or DOOM II music, R6 3 voices, briefings, action icons, terrorist surrender, hostage executions and the team order keys.
Three operations: First Civic Bank, Larkin Apartments and Halsey Street Station, each with a briefing built on R6 3's own mission photo.
Your loadout: 1 Melee, 2 Pistol, 3 Shotgun, 4 Automatic. Switch with the number keys.
A Rainbow team that goes in with you. Alpha 2 Chavez and Alpha 3 Price follow you in single file, engage terrorists with MP5 bursts (never through you or a hostage) and answer in R6 3's own team voices. Give orders: Q regroup on me, H hold position, G move to where you aim. The HUD shows each operative's state and health.
Hostages in unarmed DOOM marine bodies with R6 3's hostage behaviour and voices. Press Use for "follow me" or "stay here"; they walk your path behind the team, cower under fire and are safe in the extraction zone.
Terrorists in DOOM's zombieman, shotgun guy, chaingunner and SS bodies with R6 3's terrorist brain: guard, patrol or watch a hostage, hear you by R6 3's own noise distances, react by R6 3 personality with aimed fire, spray fire, running or surrender, call for backup and shout in German, Spanish or Portuguese.
Prisoners: a terrorist who surrenders is secured with Use and then follows you out like a hostage (Use again: stay / follow). Hostages, your team and you pass through prisoners, so they never block a doorway. The mission is complete only when every hostage and every prisoner is in the extraction zone.
R6 3 rules: a few shots kill you or them, no health pickups, Recruit / Veteran / Elite.
R6 3's radio and score: "tango down", team and hostage orders, Control's mission completed or failed, Clark's reprimand if you hit a hostage, and music that turns tense when terrorists engage.
Single player.
What you need: DOOM + DOOM II and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3: Gold Edition on Steam. R6 3's voices, music, menu art and hearing values, and the unarmed hostage sprites, are built from your own copies the first time you start; nothing from either game is in the download.
