DoomCraft

Play Minecraft as the Doom Slayer, scored and voiced by DOOM: The Dark Ages itself.

DoomCraft turns you into the Slayer in any single-player Minecraft world, and every shot, swing, parry and glory kill plays DOOM: The Dark Ages's real sound effects, read live from your own installed copy of the game. DOOM's soundtrack replaces Minecraft's music the whole time: brooding ambient pieces while you explore, and the Heavy combat sections when monsters come for you.

Your arsenal

• Shield Saw (off hand). Hold right-click to block. Raise it just as a hit lands to parry, which stuns the attacker and sends arrows and fireballs back. Press G to throw it: it carves through a monster, ricochets to up to 3 more and flies back to you.
• Flail: slow, brutal melee with huge knockback. Every hit gives you a shell.
• Combat Shotgun and Super Shotgun: right-click to fire. The Super Shotgun's blast sets demons on fire.

Rip and tear

• Beat a monster down and it staggers: it glows, slows down, and your HUD shouts GLORY KILL. Melee it to finish it in a burst of gore, and it drops health and shells. Glory-kill a burning one for armor.
• The Slayer is tougher and faster: 20 hearts, 30% faster, double jump, less fall damage.

What you need

• Minecraft: Java Edition (Melty sets up Minecraft 1.21.1 with Fabric for you; just sign in once)
• DOOM: The Dark Ages installed. DoomCraft reads its sounds and music from your copy, and nothing from DOOM is included in the download.

Single player. Controls: right-click fires or raises the shield, G throws the Shield Saw, left-click hits and glory kills, jump in mid-air to double jump.
