Tank Dempsey from Call of Duty: World at War takes Axton's place in Borderlands 2, and brings WaW zombies with him.
Pick Axton and he's Dempsey, the Marine. His action skill throws the Mystery Box: it flies out, opens to World at War's own music box, shuffles gun names and puts a gun in his hands for 25 seconds before his own gun comes back to the same slot. 1% of the time it's yours to keep.
What's in it
- World at War guns from the box: Ray Gun, Wunderwaffe DG-2, Thompson, MP40, PPSh-41, STG-44, MG42, BAR, FG42, Trench Gun, PTRS-41, Panzerschrek and more, with their WaW names, stats, firing and reload sounds. Each has its own rarity (Nacht der Untoten, Verrueckt, Shi No Numa, Der Riese, Wonder Weapon), red text with a signature bonus, and a built-in perk. Named bosses drop them in every element.
- Perk-a-Cola machines: Borderlands' vending machines also sell Juggernog, Quick Revive, Speed Cola and Double Tap, with WaW's jingles. Go down and you lose them.
- Pack-a-Punch at the Black Market: WaW's own upgraded guns, from the Gibs-o-matic to Porter's X2 Ray Gun and the Wunderwaffe DG-3 JZ.
- Zombies: bandits and engineers rise as Verrueckt sprinters, skags as burning Hellhounds that explode (Frost Hounds on snowy maps), loaders as Group 935 constructs. Badass ones are named elites with auras. Headshot kills pop heads.
- Power-ups: Max Ammo, Insta-Kill, Double Points, Kaboom, Carpenter and Fire Sale, with WaW's icons and announcer.
- Perk-a-Cola skill trees with elemental and original skills: Electric Cherry chain lightning, Nova 6, Element 115, PhD Flopper, Carpenter's +600% shield.
- 12 original WW2 guns drop from any kill or loot container.
- A blood moon at night, and three hidden meteors in every map: find them all for a World at War zombies song.
- Dempsey's own voice for kills, reloads, the box, perks and Pack-a-Punch ("Clean language" option).
You need Borderlands 2 and Call of Duty: World at War installed through Steam. The guns, names, sounds, textures, music and voice are read from your own World at War copy while you play; nothing from WaW is included. Single player. Keys: action skill = Mystery Box, B = buy perks / Pack-a-Punch / meteors, Page Up = testing menu (can be turned off in options).
