You wake in the Undead Asylum as a Dead Space engineer. Half the hollows are Nuclear Nightmare's Necrozombies, parts of the Asylum are irradiated, and you have a plasma cutter.
What you get
- Plasma cutter (Dead Space): hold F to fire, with its own ammo and Dead Space's own sound. Leg hits cripple an enemy, arms and head take extra damage. Works with Dark Souls' lock-on.
- Stasis (Dead Space): C slows the enemy you are aiming at to a crawl.
- RIG (Dead Space): your health on Dead Space's RIG spine, with the stasis meter beside it.
- Stomp for loot (Dead Space): V next to a corpse bursts it and drops credits, plasma energy, a med pack or a stasis pack, with their real icons.
- Necrozombies (Nuclear Nightmare): every second hollow in the Asylum wears Nuclear Nightmare's creature body and uses its voices.
- Radiation (Nuclear Nightmare): hot zones fill a RAD meter that caps your health until you rest at a bonfire.
How it works
Everything from Dead Space (2023) and Nuclear Nightmare is read from your own installed copies when you press Play. Nothing from any game is in the download, and no game folder is changed. If one of the two is missing, the game says so and that part is off.
The mashup always starts Dark Souls offline and keeps its own save file, so your normal characters are never touched.
Good to know
- Single player. Version 0.1 covers the Undead Asylum; the cutter, stasis, RIG and loot work everywhere.
- The Necrozombie moves with the hollow's animations and still holds the hollow's weapon.
- The mashup's own keys are keyboard only: F fire, C stasis, V stomp, X med pack, T lower the cutter.
