Backrooms Escape

A few seconds after you load in, the floor gives way and you noclip out of Minecraft into Level 0: endless yellow wallpaper, damp carpet, buzzing fluorescent lights.

Everything from Escape the Backrooms is read from your own copy of the game when you press Play, never shipped:

• Level 0's real wallpaper, carpet, ceiling tiles and light fixtures, colored the way the game colors them
• Level 0's hum, flickering lights and the cough in the dark
• Almond water with the game's own icon and drinking sound: it heals you and gives you a burst of speed
• The Bacteria in its own skin, with its chase music and jumpscare: it hunts you through the maze. Sprint.

Find the EXIT. Somewhere in the maze is a black doorway under a glowing EXIT sign. Reach it and you've escaped.

Play together. Invite friends with Melty's join link. Everyone noclips into the same Level 0 and sees the others moving, and the counter shows who has escaped. You win when everyone is out. Each player is hunted by their own Bacteria. If it catches you, you keep your items and come back beside your friend.

Needs Minecraft: Java Edition and Escape the Backrooms installed. Melty sets up Minecraft 26.3 with Fabric for you.
