20 Minutes Till Dawn's horde survival, rebuilt inside 7 Days to Die.
Press Play and you're dropped straight into a run on Navezgane. You skip the menus and the spawn screen. The camera sits overhead, north is up, you move with WASD and aim with the mouse.
How a run plays
Pick a starting gun: Pistol, Pump Shotgun or SMG-5. Reserve ammo tops itself up, but you still reload.
Survive 20:00 of night. The clock runs from 22:00 to 06:00, and the sun comes up when you win.
Waves start as lone walkers and build up to spiders, ferals, tanks, radiated zombies and two boss waves, ending with a Demolisher.
Kills give XP. Each level-up pauses the action and offers 3 upgrades:
20 Minutes Till Dawn rules apply. You have 5 hearts, every hit costs one, and you get a short safety window after each hit. There's no bleeding, infection, broken legs, reload slow-down or gear wear.
Walk into a building and the camera looks straight down and cuts it open at half-wall height, so you can fight room to room. Zombies on your level are always drawn, even behind walls.
A lantern-light circle follows you through the dark.
Win or die, a summary shows your time, kills, level and build. Press R to go again.
