Witcher Siedler

Play The Settlers: Heritage of Kings – History Edition as always, but in the world of The Witcher 3, and in much higher resolution.

When you press Play, Witcher Siedler reads textures and artwork from your own Witcher 3 installation and reworks Settlers' graphics with them. No game files are shipped.

What changes: every texture except the font glyphs

• Ground of every climate. Witcher 3 ground at up to 2048 px, matched to each climate:
  • Central Europe → White Orchard / Velen
  • Highlands → Skellige
  • Mediterranean & Steppe → Toussaint
  • Evelance & Moor → Velen's swamps
  • Tidelands → Skellige coast and Novigrad cobbles
  • Winter → Kaer Morhen snow
• Buildings, units, trees and vehicles at double resolution. Witcher 3 surfaces are worked into the Settlers shading, so everything still fits its model:
  • plaster, stone, timber, roof tiles, thatch and slate on houses
  • leather, metal, cloth and skin on units
  • bark, foliage and rock in nature
• Water. Witcher 3 caustics, ice and clouds in the reflection.
• Interface, map pictures and loading screens. The interface gets Witcher surfaces. The loading screens show Witcher 3 wallpapers and concept art, sharp and not stretched on 16:9 screens.

Campaign, free maps and both expansions play as usual.

Needs: both games installed. The loading screens use The Witcher 3's bonus artwork folders. The first Play takes about two minutes to rework the textures.

Undo: run Restore-Siedler.cmd in %LOCALAPPDATA%\WitcherSiedler, or verify the Settlers files in Steam.
