Web of Los Santos

Grand Theft Auto V story mode, with Marvel's Spider-Man 2's web-swinging in it. You stay Michael, Franklin or Trevor, and you swing, zip, wall-run and glide across Los Santos.

What you get

• Web-swinging from real buildings. A web only attaches where there is something to attach to.
• Spider jump, dive, web zip, zip to point with point launch, wall-run and web wings.
• Spider-Man 2's own animations at full frame rate, decoded from your Spider-Man 2 install and played on the GTA character: swinging, falling, diving, zipping, wall-running, web wings, and on foot the idle, walk, jog, sprint and jump.
• Spider-Man 2's own traversal sounds, decoded from your Spider-Man 2 install.
• Spider-Man 2's own swing numbers: gravity, top speed, web length, jump-off boost, web zip, wall-run and web-wing values come from its config data.
• No fall damage, and walls do not hurt you mid-move.

What you need

• Grand Theft Auto V Legacy, version 1.0.3889.0. On any other version the mod stays off.
• Marvel's Spider-Man 2 installed (Steam or Epic) for the animations and sound. Without it the swinging still works with GTA V's own animations and no Spider-Man 2 sound, and the game tells you so.

Nothing from either game is in the download. Everything from Spider-Man 2 is read from your own copy.

Holding a weapon on the ground leaves GTA V's controls alone.

Story mode only

Single player. The mod switches itself off if a GTA Online session starts. Do not take a modded game online.

Good to know

• On the ground GTA V's engine still moves the character; holding a weapon, driving, climbing and melee stay GTA V's.
• The movement is a reimplementation driven by Spider-Man 2's numbers, not Spider-Man 2's own code.
• Tested on keyboard with the Steam copies of both games. A controller follows Spider-Man 2's layout but has not been tested yet.
• Spider-Man's model is not used: you swing as the GTA character.
