Toons in the Tavern

You play Paint the Town Red as usual. Press F4 and a gang of MOUSE: P.I. For Hire's hand-drawn gangsters crashes into the bar. Toons, townsfolk and you brawl it out, three ways.

Everything MOUSE brings in is read from your own MOUSE install on first launch: the gangsters' animation frames from five angles, their voices, MOUSE's black-and-white colour sets, the weapons' first-person animations, icons and sounds, the coins and the upgrade stings.

What's in it

• 15 toon types from MOUSE's gangs (Bat Goons, Boxers, Heavies, Bomb Rats, Tommy Gunners, Shotgunners, Ray Robots, Ice Shiners and more), with MOUSE's own health, speed and damage.
• Toons vs. everyone. Each toon is a real Paint the Town Red fighter on its own faction: the townsfolk fight the toons, the toons fight you and the townsfolk, and punches, kicks, thrown bottles and PTTR physics all work on them.
• All 15 MOUSE weapons with first-person art: Fists, Chainsaw, Mauser, Shotgun, Tommy Gun, Double Barrel, Lewis Gun, Turpentine Gun, Freeze Gun, Ray Gun, Conscious Gun, Cartoon Cannon, Dynamite, Gust Grenade and the Finger Gun. Toons fight with them, and when a toon goes down its weapon drops for you to use.
• Ink splats, not gore: toons go down in MOUSE's own death animations (ink burst, turpentine dissolve, blast, freeze) with their real voices.
• Bigger waves: every F4 sends a bigger gang, with a counter for the wave, toons left and your KOs.
• Weapon upgrades: each MOUSE weapon levels up through MOUSE's four tiers as you KO toons with it, switching to MOUSE's upgraded art. Levels are saved.
• Jack's shop: toons drop MOUSE coins. Between waves, F5 opens the shop: Spinach (triple-strength punches), Chilli Pepper (fire punches), Cheese (full health), Coffee (the Finger Gun), plus perks.
