Slay the Spire, but you fight by crying. Tears of the Spire adds a new playable character, the Weeping Child, built around the item-stacking runs of The Binding of Isaac.
How it plays
Tears every turn. The Weeping Child cries 0-cost Tear attack cards into their hand at the start of each turn. Tears are Ethereal and Exhaust, so use them or lose them.
Isaac-style stats, shown as icons under your health bar:
Tear Damage: extra damage on every Tear.
Fire Rate: how many Tears you cry each turn.
Range: each Tear splashes damage onto a random enemy.
Shot Speed: chance for a Tear to hit an extra time.
10 item relics that stack those stats and change your Tears:
Bitter Onion, Rusty Nail, Toy Spyglass, Slingshot and Cyclops Eye stack stats.
Runny Nose makes Tears poison.
Third Eye makes them hit twice.
Devil Horn turns your first Tear each turn into a beam that hits every enemy.
The Paper Crown boss relic gives +1 energy.
22 cards. Cry more with Wail, Sob Story and Cry It Out. Grow your stats with Growth Spurt, Cry Harder, Far Sight and Wind Up. Blow things up with Pocket Bomb and Mega Bomb. Break the run with the rares Salty Skin, Brimstone Glare and Martyrdom.
Single player. Pick the Weeping Child on the character select screen.
What you need
Slay the Spire (v2.3.4). The Binding of Isaac is the inspiration only; you don't need it.
The release bundles current ModTheSpire 3.30.3 and BaseMod 5.56.0, both MIT and built from their official source. The 2022 game needs these current versions. Melty starts the game through them with only this mod enabled.
