Play Minecraft survival as a real Gorilla Tag gorilla.
You drop into a normal Minecraft world and you are a gorilla. You move by swinging your arms against the ground instead of walking on legs, you push off with your hands instead of jumping, and your hands catch a ledge and pull you up it. You mine and fight by swinging, place blocks and use items with the trigger. Everything else is real Minecraft: the whole survival game, blocks, mobs, items, crafting, day and night.
What each game brings
- Minecraft: Java Edition - the game you are in. The world, mobs, blocks, items, crafting and survival. Melty sets up its own portable Prism instance with the mod already inside.
- Gorilla Tag - the body (required). The gorilla's movement rules: arm-swing locomotion, push-off physics, reduced fall, hand ledge-climbing and the speed cap. SwingCraft reads these from your own installed Gorilla Tag while you play. Nothing from Gorilla Tag is shipped; Melty tells the mod where your copy is.
What you need
- Minecraft: Java Edition (Fabric 1.21.11; Melty installs the loader and signs you in).
- Gorilla Tag installed on the same PC. If it is missing, Play tells you before anything starts.
Controls
- Swing to move: WASD
- Push off the ground: Space (a hand push, not a jump)

This first version (0.1.0)
Solo. The movement half of the mashup: gorilla locomotion, physics, ledge climb and hand-swing mining, with the gorilla's rules read live from your Gorilla Tag. The visible gorilla body, tracked hands and your equipped cosmetics come next.
