Drop into Lost Planet 2's Episode 1 jungle as a Halo: Reach Spartan, in first person with free aim and aim down sights (the DMR uses Reach's own 3x scope). Grapple up cliffs and trees with LP2's anchor, fight the jungle's own Akrid with Reach's DMR and Assault Rifle (real stats, sounds and bloom), and hit the glowing orange core when they rear up. Hold E at the data post to win, with LP2's jungle music playing.
Everything comes from your own installs, read each time it starts: Halo: Reach in the Master Chief Collection, and Lost Planet 2 on Steam. Nothing from either game is in the download. This release is single player only.
What each game brings
- Halo: Reach: the Spartan's own first-person arms, the DMR and Assault Rifle (models, textures, magazine, fire rate, bloom, damage and scope zoom from the weapon tags), and their fire, reload and draw sounds.
- Lost Planet 2: the Episode 1-1 jungle (geometry, textures, sky, collision), the jungle Akrid (model, animations, sounds and where the game places them), the data post, the anchor, the jungle music and rain.
You need
- Halo: The Master Chief Collection with Halo: Reach installed.
- Lost Planet 2 on Steam. If it's missing, the game tells you on screen.
Controls
WASD move, mouse aim (F toggles free aim), left mouse fire, right mouse aim down sights, Q anchor, R reload, Tab or wheel switch weapon, Space jump, hold E activate, Enter restart, Esc quit.
Known limits in 0.2.0
- The Spartan's arms are Reach's real model, but their motion (sway, recoil, reload, draw) is made by the mashup: Reach's own animation data can't be read yet.
- Some snowy cliffs render flat white.
