Spartan Hunt turns EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 5's first mission into a UNSC bug hunt, and you play as the Master Chief.
You drop in at the east end of EDF 5's residential city and push west to burn out three Terminid nests:
- Nest 1: a swarm of Scavengers.
- Nest 2: Warriors and leaping Hunters.
- Nest 3: guarded by a Bile Titan.
What each game brings, read from your own installs every time you play (nothing is copied or shipped):
- Halo: The Master Chief Collection (Halo 3):
- The Master Chief himself. Halo 3's Chief model, with his armor, gold visor and textures, is rebuilt from your MCC at game start and fitted onto EDF's soldier skeleton, so EDF's own animations move him.
- A Mjolnir recharging energy shield on top of your EDF armor. It soaks hits, flashes red and beeps when low, breaks with Halo's shield-down alarm and recharges with the real charge sound.
- Halo gun sounds. Assault rifles fire with the MA5's sound, rocket launchers with the SPNKr, snipers with the Battle Rifle and shotguns with Halo's shotgun.
- Music. Halo 3's "Perilous" loops play during the hunt.
- HELLDIVERS 2: the Terminids' own voices. Ants scream like Scavengers and Warriors, spiders like Hunters, the queen like a Bile Titan, and the nests rumble with HD2's bug-hole sounds.
- EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 5: the host game, with its city, the bugs' bodies, your weapons and EDF's animation.
How to play: press Play, then choose Offline Mission Mode, then Mission 1. The HUD shows your shield, how many nests are destroyed and how far the next one is.
Solo (offline). Your EDF save and other missions are untouched. The Chief also appears wherever EDF dresses you as the base security guard.
