Risk of Crab

Play Risk of Rain 2 as the crab from Crab Champions.

Risk of Crab adds a new survivor, the Crab, to the character select screen. It is the real one: its model, textures and animations are read from your own copy of Crab Champions every time the game starts.

What you get

• Pick your gun in the Loadout tab: the Auto Rifle (35 rounds, full auto), the Dual Shotguns (one in each claw) or the Rocket Launcher (coconut rockets).
• Claw: a 360 degree swipe that knocks everything away from you.
• Dash: a short dash in any direction, also in the air.
• Grenade: explodes on impact.
• Double jump with a flip, full air control, and a crab that scuttles sideways while it aims.
• Items, levels, the drop pod and the rest of a normal run all work. The Crab has its own logbook page.

What you need

• Risk of Rain 2 on Steam. Made and tested on version 1.4.1.
• Crab Champions installed through Steam on the same PC. Nothing from Crab Champions is in the download: the mod reads the crab from your own copy. Without it the game still runs, and a message on the title screen tells you the Crab could not join.
• Melty installs the loader (BepInEx 5) for you. No other mods are needed.

Good to know

• Single player for now. Playing with friends has not been tested.
• English text only. Items work but are not shown on the Crab.
• If a Crab Champions update makes the Crab disappear, the rest of the game keeps working until the mod is updated.

Crab Champions is by Noisestorm; the Crab, its guns and its animations are theirs and stay in their game. Risk of Rain 2 is by Hopoo Games and Gearbox.
