R.E.P.O.R.T.A.L.

Every R.E.P.O. haul now starts with one Portal Gun in the truck. It is Portal's real one: the model, the sounds, the portals and GLaDOS are read from your own copy of Portal while you play.

What you do with it

• Hold the gun, press E for a blue portal and right mouse for an orange one, wherever you are looking.
• Prefer other keys? Change both in the game under Settings, Controls.
• Look through a portal and you see the other side, live, in the game's own fog and gloom. Line them up and you can see yourself.
• Walk through. Throw loot through. Push the cart through a portal that reaches the floor. Speed in is speed out, so a vase thrown in fast comes out fast.
• Monsters that run into a portal come out the other end too. A shortcut for you is a shortcut for them.
• It fits an inventory slot like any R.E.P.O. tool, charge bar and all.
• There is only one gun per level, so the crew has to decide who carries it.

It runs on charge

Ten portals per charge, shown on the usual charge bar. Top it up on the truck's charging station with energy crystals.

Also from Portal

• GLaDOS on the intercom when someone picks up the gun, breaks loot, dies, or finishes an extraction. The whole crew hears the same line.
• A Weighted Companion Cube hidden in some levels: heavy, sturdy, worth a lot. Please take care of it.
• Portal's radio in the truck, and Still Alive when the last extraction is done.

Playing together

It uses R.E.P.O.'s own multiplayer, up to 6 players: host or join a private game from the game's menu as usual. Everyone needs R.E.P.O., Portal and this mashup.

This first version was tested from start to finish in single player. Playing with friends is built on the game's own networking but has not been tested with two players yet, so expect rough edges there and tell me what you find.

You need

R.E.P.O. and Portal, both installed. Melty sets up the rest.
