Modern Warfare 2: BodyCams

Play the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009) campaign as if it was filmed on a soldier's body camera, with the sound of Bodycam.

What you get

• Bodycam camera look in missions: fisheye chest-cam lens, heavy grain, crushed blacks, blown-out highlights, compression blocks and motion smear. MW2's blood splatter lands on the lens. Subtitles and HUD stay sharp; menus, loading screens and cutscenes stay normal.
• Burned-in recording overlay that matches who and where you are: REC dot, timestamp, camera id, name and unit (Allen, Roach, Ramirez, Soap, "Borodin" in No Russian), mission and location.
• Bodycam's real gunfire: every MW2 gun (yours, allies' and enemies') is swapped live for the matching Bodycam recording (punch, body, mechanism and outdoor tail, three variations per gun), plus Bodycam grenade blasts and bullet cracks. Louder and harsher than MW2.
• Radio through a Bodycam radio: MW2's radio lines get band-pass, overdrive, static and Bodycam's walkie-talkie clicks. People talking next to you stay natural.
• Bodycam-style aiming: no crosshair, more sway, weapon lag and recoil, wider view.

Needs: MW2 (2009) on Steam for the campaign, and Bodycam on Steam for the sounds. Nothing from Bodycam is shipped: its sounds are read from your own installed copy every time you play. Without Bodycam you keep the look and the aiming.

Keys: Ctrl+Shift+B (or F9) look on/off, Ctrl+Shift+P (or F10) screenshot. First start indexes MW2's sounds once in the background (~20 s).

Single-player only. Code is GPL-3.0 (source included in the download). Uses ooz by Powzix (GPL-3.0), the Bink Audio decoder from vgmstream, miniz and MinHook. Fan mod, not affiliated with Reissad Studio, Infinity Ward or Activision.
