Nine TF2 mercenaries join your PvZ lawn as extra plants.
Human description (lol): a remix between plant vs zombies goty and team fortress 2, it makes the team fortress 2 characters as plant vs zombies plants to fight against zombies, it has the sounds and everything seems to work well, i put a lot of effort prompting it but i think its cool.
Ai Description: # Lawn Fortress
Nine TF2 mercenaries join your PvZ lawn as extra plants.
This is a solo Plants vs. Zombies GOTY mashup. Choose nine additional mercenary seed packets alongside the original plants. The nine mercenaries and Coffee Bean are unlocked from the start, including seed selection on the first normal planting stage. Original plant progression remains. Pick your seeds, collect sun, and defend the original PvZ lawn.
| Plant | Sun | Ability | |---|---:|---| | Scout | 150 | Instant shotgun hit, 40 damage every 3 seconds | | Soldier | 250 | Pea-speed rockets, 55 damage in a 3x3 Cherry Bomb blast every 5 seconds | | Pyro | 200 | Fume-shroom range, three successive 15-damage hits every 2.5 seconds; always awake | | Demoman | 200 | Randomly placed sticky every 16 seconds; stays landed until a zombie approaches, then explodes with Cherry Bomb damage in a 3x3 area | | Heavy | 325 | Minigun deals 80 damage across 4 seconds, then overheats for 5 seconds | | Engineer | 125 | Instant pistol hit, 20 damage every second | | Medic | 175 | Heals plants in a 3x3 area for 50 health every 5 seconds, up to maximum health; visible healing effect | | Sniper | 250 | Requires Coffee Bean, including at night; then a piercing shot every 38 seconds, dealing 1500 damage to the target and one zombie behind it in the same lane | | Spy | 125 | One random 5000-damage backstab, then vanishes |
All nine mercenary seed packets recharge in 9 seconds. The original Coffee Bean keeps its original cost and recharge. The nine TF2 cards and Coffee Bean appear first on the selection screen, starting at level 1; original plants stay available as you unlock them. The in-level TF2 Plants drawer keeps all ten cards accessible during combat, including conveyor stages, and shares recharge timers with the normal bank. Conveyor stages gain collectible sun so the added cards can still be bought at their stated costs. Normal tile rules still apply, including Lily Pads for water and Flower Pots for roofs. The first version uses TF2's actual character portraits with movement and attack feedback, plus its actual weapon sounds.
Requires the player's installed Plants vs. Zombies: Game of the Year (Steam app 3590) and Team Fortress 2 (Steam app 440). PvZ is the required host. The game is a native community GOTY port reading the player's PvZ content, with TF2 as a required companion for its real portraits and sounds. Melty passes both folders at launch. No browsing for folders, manual loader installation, TF2 launch, or server setup is required. No game assets are included, extracted to disk, or copied into another game.
Mashup progress is separate from the original game's saves. The original game files are read only. No multiplayer is included.
Tested in Melty: version 0.1.6 completed two four-minute installation and gameplay runs, with all twelve mechanic checks and both recording reviews passing. The listing image is from this version running.
Design and balance: elpepe. Implementation assisted by Codex.
